Dear Andrew,
I wanted to let you know how proud I am of you for your character and love for the Lord.
As you turn 12 (a significant age!) there are some things I would like to share with you.
- What you will be tomorrow is based on your decisions today.
Having accepted Christ as your Savior you have already made the most important decision of
your life. There will be a lot of opportunities for you to make wrong decisions. Make sure
you always include the Lord in your decisions. He has given you a conscience and His Spirit.
The Holy Spirit will speak to you through your conscience. Keep it clear and you will always
make the right decision.
- I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
There is nothing too big for you and the Lord. Don't let your limitations hold you back.
If your heart is committed and the thing is of the Lord, He will enable you to reach
whatever goal you have.
- Make Christ the Lord of your life as well as your Savior
These are two distinct roles and many Christians fail to make Him Lord. For Christ Jesus to
be Lord of your life, He MUST be a part of every decision. Pleasing Him will be your number
one goal. Offering yourself as His servant will ensure that the Holy Spirit gives you the
wisdom to make the right decisions and to have the faith to accomplish your (His) goals.
Please know that I wish to help you any way I can as you go through your adolescent years
and beyond. Never be reluctant to come to me to talk about anything on your mind. Always
know that I will be watching your development with great interest, anticipation, pride and love.
Yours in Christ,
Uncle Randy
