I Was Down On My Knees

Once I wondered alone in darkness of night,
once I struggled alone far from God and right,
then I saw I was lost and in my despair
I fell on my knees in prayer.

I was down on my knees, down on my knees,
praying to my Lord every day,
I was praying unto my Lord Jesus hear my plea,
take my heavy burdens away,
Oh satan tried to tell me the bible was a lie,
that Jesus did not love me that I was doom to die,
but I stayed on my knees, down on my knees,
Jesus took my burdens away.

I had fallen so low in sin and disgrace,
that it's seems all was cold just to touch his grace,
but I lifted my voice and in my despair
Jesus heard my humble prayer.
