Randy, I believe we are cousins I don't have anything lower than Moses born in 1847 married to a Mary Runyan. That is if we are talking about Aaron Lucas of Warren Co., OH. I am descended from Aaron's brother George. Susannah married to Hezekiah Barr, Jennie Belle Barr married Will Knapp, Floyd Knapp (my grandfather). The person started me on genealogy was in a round robin letter circle mostly of Hezkiah Barr & Susannah Lucas descendents but they had a Mrs. Darlington who was a descendant of Aaron also in the circle. ------ There seems to be three or four controversies on our line 1) Francis Lucas (Aaron & George's father) birth and death dates Francis headstone cannot be located in the old part of the South Lebonan cemetery anymore. But at one time it was read that he died in 1845 or 1846 at age 61 thus birth as late as 1785, years after next older brother Caleb. I found a newspaper death announcement in1843 of his death and anoher cousin found where his will was executed in 1843. (A worn '3' could look like a 5 or 6.) Thus birth in 1782. The three years makes a difference of where he was born and possibly if he had the same mother as Caleb. It has been difficult to correct such a simple mistake. 2) Francis Lucas' father is Thomas Lucas. It hasn't been decided whether Thomas Lucas' father was Franz Lucas born in 1730 and died in 1824 or Thomas Lucas's father was Aaron Lucas and thus grandfather was Franz Lucas (possibly born in 1740). Our Thomas Lucas did travel with an Abraham Lucas who stayed in Kentucky whose father as Aaron Lucas. Dr. Vallentine could not really tell but leaving the extra generation out for his own tree. I put the extra generation in since a 94 year old guy would be noticed. 3) Fancis Lucas was sued by sister Sarah Ulery for inheritance from her father. There was will but was put aside or destoried. This court case listed 3 daughters of Thomas Lucas which was not known before 1995. 4) There was a second Caleb Lucas mentioned in the court proceedings - Caleb, son of Thomas, was known to be living in Greene Co., OH married to a Mary Price but mentions a Caleb not known to be alive living in possibly in Indiana. The passage is strange but I believe that oldest son of Thomas Lucas, Thomas Lucas had issue Caleb before he was killed in Hamar's Defeat. Many of Aaron's siblings went to Indiana or further west. Father Francis bought land in La Porte County, Indiana in abt 1835 and may traveled there then. I believe I saw that Aaron lost a son or two crossing the Little Miami. Hope this hits you with some information. Cheryl Rothwell is a very good general Lucas researcher - her ancestor is Aaron's uncle, Abraham Lucas, who moved to Logan Co., Illinois about 1835.
