Title: It is not our mind or emotions but our will that must submit

Our soul is mind, emotions and will.
Sometimes we think that our thinking is in control.
Sometime we think it is our emotions that are in control.
But ultimately, it is our will that is in control of our lives.
Submit yourselves therefore to the Lord.     Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. -
These commands ensure victory.

The Lord wants only your best interest served, so work with Him.

Satan, on the other hand, is the enemy and must be resisted whenever and wherever he appears.

We submit from our will just as we rebel from our will.     The rebellious attitude leads to destruction while the submissive attitude leads to eternal, abundant life in the Holy Spirit.

We conceive of ideas in our mind.   We mull over them with rational testing.   We assess them until we have an emotional inclination to act or not to act.   But the commitment only occurs when our will is set.

Ross Perot, a former presidential candidate, asked the following question: "Are you going to fish or cut bait?"

What goes into our minds and is processed by consideration and emotional testing is like cutting bait.   It is only when we decide and determine by an act of our will, do we move from the state of consideration and preparation to the state of action.
But be you doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. -
Exercise what you know in the Lord.     Practice is the only way to improve your spiritual skills.

Self-deception occurs when we mentally agree to something but deny it in our heart.     The proof of faith is what we do.

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed; -
To continue in the Word is to become a doer of it.     It is to allow the Word to change how you see, how you hear, how you think, how you speak and what you do.

Don't skip a step and don't stop short.
Hearing is step 1.
Believing is step two.
Receiving is step three
Doing is step 4.

See He Be Re Do.

To "make up your mind" is to come to a point where your will is committed to a specific action.
And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt you between two opinions?     if the Lord be the Lord, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him.     And the people answered him not a word. -
This is the question and marching order of the day.

There is no middle ground to stand on.     We either stand on the rock, Christ Jesus, or we stand in the quicksand of Baal.

I am afraid that the answer Elijah received is the one still echoing today.

If the Body Of Christ is to make a difference in the world, each of us must come under the authority of the head, who is Christ Jesus.   His will is very explicit.   Our will should be to do His will.
And he said unto them, Go you into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. -
This is the Great Commission.     It is still in force.     We are expected to carry the Gospel to every creature.

Jesus did not expect every person to believe, but He wants us to make sure all nations hear the Gospel as it is a criteria for His return.

He that believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believes not shall be damned. -
Paul echoes Christ when he says we are saved by Grace Through Faith

As to Water Baptism, it is public evidence of faith in Christ.     It is not evidence to the Lord as He knows the heart of man.

Paul makes it clear that Spirit Salvation is a result of Heart Faith in Christ Jesus and oral confession that Jesus is the resurrected Christ in

Public Confession of Christ confirms our salvation to ourselves and those to whom we witness.     It is a precursor to lifelong sharing of the Testimony Of Jesus Christ.

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; -
Jesus tells us that we will operate in His power to do signs and wonders, to exorcise demons and to speak in new Tongues ( Prayer Language and messages).

They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. -
We will not be subject to physical attacks by virtue of the Holy Spirit supernaturally empowering and protecting us.

Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. -
By the Word of command Jesus gave the Disciples power and authority over devils and disease.     Having commissioned authority is good but having the source of power ( Holy Spirit) in us is better.

And he sent them to preach the kingdom of heaven, and to heal the sick. -
The Word must precede the demonstration of power.     The Word brings for faith on which the power operates.
