| First of all, our Heavenly Father has no sorrow, so the concept of our sorrow being like the Lord's is wrong. Godly Sorrow is being sorry for your existence apart from the Lord.
When you come to Christ, you are no longer and never again will be apart from Him. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. - |
Repentance is not so much a turning for fear of damnation as it is a turning toward the Lord for relationship with Him.
It is love for the Lord that compels us to live according to His character. It is His Holy Spirit that empowers us to do so.
When we experience Godly Sorrow we are sad and regretful for that which has separated us from the Lord.
Godly Sorrow should not be a mainstay of a believer's walk. Why? We see that there is nothing that can separate us from the love of the Lord.
If sin is remembered no more and nothing can separate us from the love of the Lord, then we are eternally secure In Christ Jesus.
Our Lord is looking for Faith in us. He knows that when we walk by Faith in the Spirit we will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.
Therefore, when we see a person who is obeying the flesh we should understand that they are not in the proper love relationship with the Lord.
Furthermore, we should understand that the Spiritual Laws of the Lord will play out resulting with them suffering the consequences of their action.
Is the Lord mad at them? No. Because He has chosen not to see their sin. He sees them through the blood of His sacrifice - white as snow. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. - |
Godly Sorrow is for the unbeliever. It is not for the believer. David spoke as he did in many of the Psalms because he was not under Grace but under Law.
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? - |
Therefore any stronghold that is uncovered in our lives should be cast down. (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) - Spiritual Warfare is the undercurrent of all the p nsychological, emotional, moral, political, social and economic turmoil in the world. No one can escape this warfare. There is no possibility of being neutral. The warfare comes to every person, every family, every church, every community, every state and every nation Since Spiritual Warfare is unavoidable, we must first choose sides () secondly prepare for battle () and thirdly go forth into the battle () In order to fight the good fight of faith we must put on the whole armour of God () Once we are properly fitted for defense and protection we are to take up the Sword Of The Spirit - the Word Of God () The Word Of God is our offensive weapon. When wielded in faith under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit it will pull down any stronghold that the enemy sets up. Without the Word Of God we cannot defeat the enemy. But when we go on offense with it, we will knock down the Gates Of Hell () |
There is no condemnation from the Lord toward us. However, we aught to purify ourselves in pursuit of Abundant Life. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. - |
