If it were possible for God to forgive a sinner his sins, it would do him no good, because he would go on sinning.   The thing that the sinner must have is a New Nature.   He must be recreated.   

This Recreation can only be accomplished by imparting to him a New Nature.   

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. - 2Pe 1:4 God created man in His image.     Gen 1:26 We are born of His spirit.     Joh 3:5 We are filled with His spirit.     Joh 3:5 We are Sons of God.     1Jn 3:2 We are more than Conquerors.     Rom 8:37 We have escaped the power of sin.      We now experience His Divine Power.     2Pe 1:3 We are to operate in the Promises of God.     To do so we must know the Promises, claim the Promises and exercise the authority that those Promises carry with them.      You might partake of the Divine Nature but it is up to you.

That corruption is Spiritual Death.   We only escape it by the New Birth, receiving this New Nature.   

For the Lord so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. - Joh 3:16 What world is John speaking of?      The earth and all the people born into humanity.      God is love and love is of God.      The world was created by God and it is good.     We know that man chose rebellion against God and so humanity became evil.     But God loves the people of this world and so sent Christ Jesus into the world to redeem it and us.      Love is what led Him to be born as a human, to suffer and die for us.      The Gospel is heard and those who are hungry are lead by the Holy Spirit to believe and receive the Truth.      The Truth sets us free from sin, from death and hell and brings us to Eternal Life.

And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: - Joh 20:30

But these are written, that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Holy Spirit; and that believing you might have life through his name. - Joh 20:31 The scriptures are the Word of Truth which, when received, generate Eternal Life through Jesus Christ.      We are Born Again on the authority of the Word by the power of the Holy Spirit.      Since we are Born Again in Spirit and Truth we therefore worship the Lord in Spirit and Truth.     Joh 4:24

In him was life; and the life was the light of men. - Joh 1:4 In the body of Jesus was life - the life of the Holy Spirit.     The Holy Spirit in the body of Jesus enabled Him to speak Words of Truth which brought light and life to those who received it,

Jesus came to bring to man a New Nature, Eternal Life.   Until man has this New Nature, he is living in the realm of Spiritual Death, and he is a subject of Satan.   

That at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without the Lord in the world: - Eph 2:12 Under the Old Covenant we ( Gentiles) had no Hope of Salvation.

He is alienated from the Life of God.   He cannot come into God's Presence.   He cannot fellowship with God.   His nature is enmity against God.   His only hope lies in a New Creation.   

In John 5:24 Jesus said:

Truly, truly, I say unto you, He that hears my word, and believes on him that sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. - Joh 5:24 Hearing, Believing, Receiving and Doing the Word of God is the Expectation of God for each of us.      When we do so we enter into Everlasting Life.      We are forever delivered from Condemnation.

There is no judgment for the man who s passed out of Satan's realm into God's realm.   He passes out of Death into Life.   It is an actual Birth out of Satan's Family into God's Family.   

It is mentioned in Col 1:13

Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: - Col 1:13 We are delivered from all that destroys.     We are now In Christ in the Kingdom Of God.

It is the New Birth.   

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. - 2Co 5:17 The new creation is hidden with Christ in God.      The only way that it manifests is through a transformed mind.      We do not get the transformed mind at the point of faith.     We get it by absorbing the Word Of God and meditating on it in the Holy Spirit.     We must then walk out that which is in our mind and heart.      Old things have passed away and all things have become new as far as God is concerned, but we must forget the past and see ourselves as God sees us for the effect of the old things to pass away from our minds and hearts.      We must choose to see all things as new in order to experience new things.

And all things are of the Lord, who has reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation; - 2Co 5:18 Joh 3:16,17 states the will of God which is reconciliation.     God's wrath is reserved only for those who refuse to be reconciled to Him through Faith in Christ Jesus.

This is an actual transition of man from Satan's Family into God's Family.   When he accepts Christ as Savior and confesses Him as Lord, God breathes into him Eternal Life.   It drives out the Satanic Nature and makes him a New Creation.   

With the New Creation there comes a New Mode of Life.   

We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brothers.     He that loves not his brother abides in death. - 1Jn 3:14 The Holy Spirit is Love and so we who are filled with the Holy Spirit manifest Love.

Whoever hates his brother is a murderer: and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. - 1Jn 3:15 Apparently John encountered a lot of Carnal Minded Believers.     They simply needed to immerse themselves In Christ by being washed in the Word by the Spirit.
