Title: A believer who understands the Holy Spirit power is still with us

And it shall come to pass in the last days, says the Lord, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: -
The Lord wants every person to believe on Him, Christ Jesus, and receive His Spirit.

The manifestation of the Holy Spirit is powerful to the receiver and to the body of Christ.

He enables us to walk in Newness Of Life as Sons Of The Holy Spirit.

The Last Days begin on the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was poured out upon believers.
What follows the Last Days?   The End Of The Age marked by the return of Christ Jesus.

Until our Lord returns His Holy Spirit is moving in response to the preaching of the Gospel of Grace through Jesus Christ.

There is no scriptural basis for believing otherwise though cessationists choose to believe that the Holy Spirit power is no longer available or needed.   Often they use this verse to support this belief:
But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. -
That which is perfect is the translated body and soul that Christ Jesus will effect in us at His appearing.

When that translation occurs our soul and body will become absorbed into our spirit, the Holy Spirit, so that there is no need for the earnest of our expectation as we will be in the fulness of that expectation.

For those who resist the Holy Spirit power understand this: "You have an issue with control."
This is not a theological issue.   It is a personal issue.
I beseech you therefore, brothers, by the kindnesses of the Lord, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto the Lord, which is your reasonable service. -
Paul urgently entreats us to service because of the mercy and Grace of our Lord that we have received.

Furthermore, since the body is to be redeemed at our Lord's appearing we ought to make the temporal body of flesh a sacrifice to His service.

The Holy Spirit is the sanctifier and so our body of flesh is usable by Him.

Submit yourselves therefore to the Lord.     Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. -
These commands ensure victory.

The Lord wants only your best interest served, so work with Him.

Satan, on the other hand, is the enemy and must be resisted whenever and wherever he appears.

We submit from our will just as we rebel from our will.     The rebellious attitude leads to destruction while the submissive attitude leads to eternal, abundant life in the Holy Spirit.

I am responsible to my Master alone.
You are responsible to your Master alone.

So, the issue is a personal one at its foundation.   However, the corporate effect of how believers deal with the issue determines the weakness or power operating in the Body Of Christ.

We must repulse the tendency to substitute tradition for Truth.   "Thy Word is Truth".
Remember therefore from where you are fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto you quickly, and will remove your candlestick out of his place, except you repent. -
What are the First Works of a believer?
To hear the Word, to believe it, to receive it and to do it.

To resist the teaching and leading of the Word and Holy Spirit puts one in jeopardy of losing their influence - i.e.     having their candlestick removed.     The church at Ephesus no longer exists.

The main purpose of Jesus coming to earth was not for us to be saved.   Rather it was for us to be baptised with the Holy Spirit.
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that comes after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit, and with fire: -
So, repentance is necessary but the baptism of the Holy Spirit is what seals us to the Lord.

We are redeemed to become vessels for our Lord to live through.     It is when our body is filled with Him that we begin to manifest His will.
