The key to any kind of 'help' is that it is temporary. If it becomes permanent, it is enablement and a never-ending drain of resources. Those in favor of big government always use a crisis or make up a crisis to further entrench the government in people's lives, creating dependencies which others in the economy have to support.
Welfare is a reverse pyramid scheme!
While there is much to draw from and few drawing in the beginning, toward the end there is little to draw from and many drawing from it.
Such a policy and its programs tend toward poverty, which tends toward famine, which tends to war, which tends toward death.
But, as the socialist, communist, leftist, atheist thinks: "All this won't happen today or in 'my lifetime'".
