Competition ensures fair prices and ample supply.   A Monopoly restricts supply and raises prices.   

The Government of the U.S.   has become a Monopoly - actually, the mother of all monopolies.   
It does not produce goods and services but controls those that do.   

A managed Economy is the absolute worse thing that can happen to a Free people.   It is the mechanism by which all their Freedoms will be taken.
