And when the children of Ammon saw that they had made themselves odious to David, Hanun and the children of Ammon sent a thousand talents of silver to hire them chariots and horsemen out of Mesopotamia, and out of Syriamaachah, and out of Zobah.

16  He fought also with the king of the Ammonites, and prevailed against them.     And the children of Ammon gave him the same year an hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and ten thousand of barley.     So much did the children of Ammon pay unto him, both the second year, and the third.
17  And the king of Egypt put him down at Jerusalem, and condemned the land in an hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.
18  And he made the most holy house, the length whereof was according to the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits: and he overlaid it with fine gold, amounting to six hundred talents.
19  And Huram sent him by the hands of his servants ships, and servants that had knowledge of the sea; and they went with the servants of Solomon to Ophir, and took thence four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and brought them to king Solomon.
20  Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and threescore and six talents of gold;
21  And she gave the king an hundred and twenty talents of gold, and of spices great abundance, and precious stones: neither was there any such spice as the queen of Sheba gave king Solomon.
22  And Pul the king of Assyria came against the land: and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.
23  And Hezekiah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria to Lachish, saying, I have offended; return from me: that which thou puttest on me will I bear.     And the king of Assyria appointed unto Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.
24  And Pharaohnechoh put him in bands at Riblah in the land of Hamath, that he might not reign in Jerusalem; and put the land to a tribute of an hundred talents of silver, and a talent of gold.
25  And he said, All is well.     My master hath sent me, saying, Behold, even now there be come to me from mount Ephraim two young men of the sons of the prophets: give them, I pray thee, a talent of silver, and two changes of garments.
26  And Naaman said, Be content, take two talents.     And he urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of garments, and laid them upon two of his servants; and they bare them before him.
27  And the king of Syria said, Go to, go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel.     And he departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of raiment.
28  And he took their king's crown from off his head, the weight whereof was a talent of gold with the precious stones: and it was set on David's head.     And he brought forth the spoil of the city in great abundance.
29  If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those that have the charge of the business, to bring it into the king's treasuries.
30  Of a talent of pure gold shall he make it, with all these vessels.
31  Of a talent of pure gold made he it, and all the vessels thereof.
32  All the gold that was occupied for the work in all the work of the holy place, even the gold of the offering, was twenty and nine talents, and seven hundred and thirty shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary.
33  And the silver of them that were numbered of the congregation was an hundred talents, and a thousand seven hundred and threescore and fifteen shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary:
34  And of the hundred talents of silver were cast the sockets of the sanctuary, and the sockets of the vail; an hundred sockets of the hundred talents, a talent for a socket.
35  And the brass of the offering was seventy talents, and two thousand and four hundred shekels.
36  Unto an hundred talents of silver, and to an hundred measures of wheat, and to an hundred baths of wine, and to an hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribing how much.
37  I even weighed unto their hand six hundred and fifty talents of silver, and silver vessels an hundred talents, and of gold an hundred talents;
38  And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
39  And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
40  Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
41  And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
42  He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.
43  Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
44  And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
45  Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
46  And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.
47  And, behold, there was lifted up a talent of lead: and this is a woman that sitteth in the midst of the ephah.
