There are two type of WillfulSin:
1) Doing something that one knows is against God's Law
2) Rejecting God's Law and exhonerating oneself of Guilt
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. -
Jam 1:14Our battle with the
Flesh occurs in our
Mind which receives a
Lust signal from our
Body. When the
Mind is
Transformed it automatically discards that signal. If it is not
Transformed it considers it seeking to find a way to justify filling the request.
Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. -
Jam 1:15
All Sin is essentially WillfulSin based on its origination in Lust which is our personal desire.
Premeditated Sin is to be distinguished from accidental Sin. But both of these types of Sin are damaging to the individual because that is what Sin does. It brings forth Death.
However, the most egregious WillfulSin is that Sin which denies the Authority of God to define the act as Sin. This is Rebellion against God.
In the situation where a person simply gives over to Lust and does something they Know is Wrong, there is the Grace of God to cover it because they acknowledge their Sin.
When a person determines that God is Wrong about an act and chooses to define that act as Moral or acceptable, He has made himself God.
This was Lucifer's Sin - he made himself his own God. He works in Humanity to spread that spirit of Rebellion to as many as are willing to receive it.
All Sin is Evil because it is hurtful, damaging and damnable. However, Christ Jesus has made it possible for all Sin to be Forgiven to those who acknowledge it as Sin, acknowledge His suffering for it and Repent of it.
To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. -
Act 26:18
God makes no allowances for Forgiveness of Sin except through Christ Jesus who is the author and embodiment of Law and Grace.
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. -
Luk 13:3Though it is not God's
Will that any
Perish, it is up to each individual to determine their
Fate.
