And the Lord said, I will make man in my image, after my likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. Gen 1:26 The `us` and `our` pronouns were written into the translations because of the implications of Elohim possibly being more than one God.     We know this is error because of Deu 6:4 The correct rendering is `I will make man in my image, after my likeness`.      Jesus is the Truth about Creator God.     The Word tells us that He is Creator Joh 1:10 and that He is the express image of the Father, the Holy Spirit - His Spirit.     Heb 1:3 Man was created to be like the Lord in His image to share in dominion with Him over the universe.      Man`s part of the universe is the earth to which the Lord gave Adam dominion.     Adam was in relationship with the Lord and was expected to refer to the Lord for whatever wisdom he needed to rule the earth.      Adam`s sin caused two things: 1) Adam`s spirit was corrupted into a Sin Nature thus losing fellowship with the Lord.      2) Adam relinquished dominion over the earth to Satan.

For the word of the Lord is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Heb 4:12 The Word of the Lord destroys our Sin Nature and makes us a New Spirit being.         → If we stay in the Word it will transform our minds to the Mind Of Christ.         → If we trust the Word it will heal our bodies.         → By the Word and the Holy Spirit we come to have the thoughts and intents of the Lord so purifying our hearts.

The above verse clearly says there is a difference between Soul and Spirit.   

And the very Holy Spirit of peace sanctify you wholly; so that your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1Th 5:23 This verse reveals the makeup of man which, because we are created in His image, is the makeup of God.      What is that makeup?     Spirit Soul And Body I am Spirit Soul And Body and so is God.      Who is God?     The Lord Jesus Christ who is also a man.      We are Accepted In The Beloved who is Christ Jesus.      His Holy Spirit will preserve us guilt free in anticipation of the completion of our redemption at Jesus` return.

This verse speaks to our Spirit Soul And Body being the totality of who we are.   At this point, only our Spirit has been Redeemed.   We are now a New Spirit being In Christ.   We have experienced Spirit Salvation.   

However, our Souls are not Redeemed.   They must be Transformed and Renewed to the Mind Of Christ.   That is Soul Salvation.   

Obviously your Body has not been Redeemed yet because of the aging issue.   

So, we are only 1/3 Saved.   Furthermore, it is inaccurate to use the term " Saved Soul" as that has actually not happened in totality to anyone yet - including Paul.   

Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Phi 3:12 Paul acknowledges that Soul Salvation is a process which one goes through to become that which Christ has in mind.

Brothers, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, Phi 3:13 The secret to maintaining your joy and peace while recognizing that you have not reached your goal is that you never lose sight of the facts:    → that there is no condemnation in Christ Rom 8:1, and    → that you are His workmanship Eph 2:10, and    → that He will complete your redemption at His appearing Rom 8:23, and, that all the while,    → His love never fails 1Co 13:8 1Jn 3:1.

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of the Lord in Christ Jesus. Phi 3:14 Many believers assume Paul is talking about Jesus` perfection, His abstinence from sin.     But this is not the case because of what Paul himself said in Rom 8:1 and Rom 3:22.      Paul was already righteously guilt free by the gift of the Lord.      And Paul had already received the prize of the gift of Eternal Life through Christ Jesus.      So, if righteousness, freedom from guilt and Eternal Life was not his goal, what was he pressing toward?         → The mark is the Mind Of Christ.         → The prize is the Lord Himself.         → The high calling is to manifest as a Son Of The Holy Spirit The Mind Of Christ is being totally consumed in faith and living life as a Son Of The Holy Spirit.      How do we press toward that mark?      We fellowship with the Lord in His Word and pray in His Spirit.      How do we gain the prize?      We become totally consumed by His faith and totally absorbed by His Holy Spirit.

Our Soul will be Saved (perfected) at the appearing of our Lord when it is translated from corruptible to incorruptible.   

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 1Co 15:52 There are seven trumpets identified in Rev 8:1-* and at the Last Trump our Lord will appear in the sky as lightening with every eye seeing Him.      When the Last Trump sounds the dead in Christ shall be raised and translated along with those who are alive.      This will happen in a moment of time.

Understanding the difference between Spirit, Soul and Body as well as the hierarchy is critical for understanding the Word Of The Lord.   

There are two extreme progressions that can take place in a person.   
   → One is a positive progression such that the individual believer manifests the Mind Of Christ.   
   → The other progression is negative, actually a regression, wherein the unbeliever falls into depravity.   

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Holy Spirit is spirit. Joh 3:6 Our spirit and our flesh exist in different realms.      Our Spirit exists in the Spirit Realm while our body exists in the Physical Realm.      Our Lord is Spirit Joh 4:24 (the Holy Spirit) and, as such, His existence is in the Spirit Realm.     That is why we must be born of the Spirit Joh 3:7 - so we can be one with the Holy Spirit Joh 17:21.      But the Holy Spirit also exists in the Physical Realm in Christ Jesus Joh 3:13.      As the Holy Spirit breathed life into Adam, so He did into the womb of Mary Mat 1:18, and Jesus, the eternal, Incarnate Word Joh 1:1 became a living human soul Joh 1:14.      Our Lord Jesus is Spirit Soul And Body 1Th 5:23 just as are we who were created in His image Gen 1:26.
