Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double minded. - Jam 4:8
Interestingly, James addresses Sinners in one part of the statement and addresses the DoubleMinded in the latter part.
I suspect the DoubleMinded are Followers of Christ.
How does one PurifyYourHeart?
And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt you between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. - 1Ki 18:21
Why didn't the people answer Elijah? They were bouncing back and forth in their Minds about what they wanted to do. They were DoubleMinded.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. - Mat 5:8
The implication of this verse is that those who are not Pure in Heart will never see God!
God doesn't Compromise. God cannot allow an uncommitted person into Heaven. They would eventually go the route of Lucifer.
Only you can PurifyYourHeart! Don't ask God to do this to you because it would violate His gift of FreeWill.
You must determine that you will Believe God and Trust God with all that you are.
God forbid: yes, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That you might be justified in your sayings, and might overcome when you are judged. - Rom 3:4
You see, your Justification is totally dependent on your commitment to the veracity of God (His Word).
Doubting God's Word will send you to Hell! When your Doubt God's Word you are blaspheming His Character!
Doubt is not an option for a Believer. Doubt (Unbelief) prevents the Grace of God from reaching you. This includes Salvation, Healing, Prosperity, Victory and AbundantLife.
You must close your Mind to the Enemy. Yes, I am saying you must be 'close-minded'! No one wants to be accused of being close-minded because of their Pride.
Eve was open-minded. She listened to God. Then she listened to the serpent. And then she screwed up everything!
So, when Jesus was talking about the Pure in Heart seeing God, He was not excluding people who listened to dirty jokes or thought prurient thoughts about the opposite sex. He was exluding people who doubted God.
So, get rid of every Opinion, every voice, every Philosophy that comes against the Word of God and PurifyYourHeart so that you may not only see God but enter into the fulness of your Inheritance in Christ Jesus.
In the KingdomOfGod it really is "all or nothing".
