So, we see that our Lord created all things for His pleasure and that that it is only wickedness that disappoints Him.
Accordingly, we are to live our lives within the minimal bounds that He has defined. What are those bounds?
And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. This is not the second commandment but it is second in importance. |
These great commandments speak to our attitude toward our Lord and humanity. But there is a something even higher on the list of things that bring Him pleasure. To understand what that higher calling to His pleasure is we need to consider the following:
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called His sons: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. |
Beloved, now are we the sons of the Holy Spirit, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. |
If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us: |
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of Majesty. |
So, get out there, enjoy His creation, love Him, praise Him, testify of Him and so bring our Lord Jesus Christ pleasure. |
