One's Heart may take a turn for the better or for the worse.

Salvation occurs when a person Repents and turns their Heart to God and are set Free.

When a person takes their eyes off of Christ they Backslide to state of Bondage.

Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and you turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; - Deu 11:16

Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold. - Deu 17:17

If you shall hearken unto the voice of the LORD your God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if you turn unto the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul. - Deu 30:10

But if your heart turn away, so that you will not hear, but shall be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them; - Deu 30:17

And Samuel spoke unto all the house of Israel, saying, If you do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines. - 1Sa 7:3

Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, You shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love. - 1Ki 11:2

And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart. - 1Ki 11:3

And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice, - 1Ki 11:9

And like unto him was there no king before him, that turned to the LORD with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him arose there any like him. - 2Ki 23:25

And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart. - Jer 24:7

We see in these Scriptures how that the turning of the Heart may be toward or away from God. To understand the implications of both turnings it would be helpful to review the context of each the above verses.

However, the results of the turning can be summarized by the following:

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both you and your seed may live: - Deu 30:19

He that believes on the Son has everlasting life: and he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him. - Joh 3:36

And this is the record, that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
He that has the Son has life; and he that has not the Son of God has not life.
- 1Jn 5:11,12

And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. - Rev 19:20

What a contrast! Those who turn their Hearts to the Lord enter into the presence of God forever to enjoy Him and all of His Creation throughout Eternity while those that turn their Hearts away from Christ Jesus spend Eternity in the LakeOfFire with Satan and all the Evil ones of the past.

Choose wisely my friend!
