God is "I AM".
Jesus makes us " Free Indeed".
Anyone who dwells on the past as victim or villain is still Lost.
Apologies don't Heal the victim or the villain. They are just narcotics to the Soul.
The Pain and and the Guilt will continue to return until the Healer removes the Root.
Forgetness is of God. It is the sibling of Forgiveness.
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. - Heb 8:12
God determined that He will remember no more .
That is what we must do - determine that we will remember no more .
It is an act of our will. It is called Forgetness.
