And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: The Lord was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Holy Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. 1Ti 3:16 The Truth about Christ Jesus

Jesus is God by virtue
   → of being physically born of His Holy Spirit Mat 1:18
   → by being filled with His Holy Spirit Luk 4:1
   → by being crowned by His Holy Spirit Mat 28:18 .   

Jesus is the epitome of godliness but He is the firstfruit of others who manifest His godliness.   

But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 1Co 15:20 The Truth about the Truth.      Jesus proved He had power over death and the grave.

But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. 1Co 15:23 Hallelujah!     We are next!

We who believe In Christ are to manifest Godliness.   

Godliness is not a human initiated performance of righteousness.   

Godliness is the state of being filled with the Holy Spirit Of Christ Jesus.   

First and foremost it is a state.   However, the evidence of that state is His influence
   → on how we think
   → how we talk
   → what we do.   

For it is the Holy Spirit which works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Phi 2:13 Your will is a part of your soul.     It is that part of you which opens and closes doors.      When you open your heart to the Lord Jesus Christ, you enable Him to recreate you in the New Birth.      As you submit your will to His Holy Spirit you enable His will to manifest in you.      To the extent that you work out your Soul Salvation through the submission of your will to His, you will see the Holy Spirit perform holy acts through your life.      It is the New Spirit being that you are, which you allow to manifest, which is in sync with the Holy Spirit, which directs your will and actions.
