Satan our Enemy goes about seeking whom he may devour. 1Pe 5:8
Most people Underestimate Satan. They expect him to attack full on.
But Satan's style was uncovered in his encounter with Eve in the garden.
He is subtle, sly, devious, always appealing to reason. Human's take pride in their ability to reason and so they are easy targets for him.
Am I saying you can't trust your reason?
Yes, unless your foundation and framework is the Word of God.
God forbid: yes, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That you might be justified in your sayings, and might overcome when you are judged. - Rom 3:4
This radical statement is addressing the stark reality of man's inability to Know Truth apart from the Revelation of God's Word.
Ignore God'sWord? "F'get about it." applies here. I cannot emphasize how dependent we are on God's Word for our very sanity.
And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. - Luk 4:4
So, anyone who does not know the Word of God is a sitting duck for the Enemy.
Human Reason gets manipulated into the Idea Realm of Satan with no bumps as smooth as glass.
So, the net result is that man in his pride Underestimates the Enemy and so is Deceived.
