One of the results of too many Laws is Lawlessness.
When there are too many laws it is impossible to enforce them all all the time. This results in injustice where the law is not applied evenly and consistently.
A backlash occurs when there are too many laws. That backlash is an increase in Lawlessness.
"I know its the law but no one is enforcing it.". "The judge will just throw my case out."
Those are some examples of the thinking that occurs when there are more laws than can be enforced.
As that thinking increases with the successful breaking of laws with no consequences, Lawlessness becomes a way of life.
Civilization demands good laws which are always enforced to all people equitably.
I have heard it said that "we are a nation of laws". That is not ncessarily a good thing.
Laws don't make people good citizens. Conformity to good laws make good people.
Laws that are not enforced or are unequally enforced make bad people.
It is time we have our Legislators stop making new laws and go through the books removing bad/unenforced laws with the objective of coming up with good laws that it is possible to enforce seriously, consistently and fairly.

Sounds like the Constitution got involved in their thinking.
John Wayne, Gary Cooper, Audie Murphy, Roy Rogers, Paladin, Wyatt Earp, and Marshall Dillon are dead. Our law enforcement has become nothing more than an adversary of the innocent law abiding people.

All the while we have a rising number of vagrants (homeless), drug traffickers, and thieves living amongst us.
The police do not have the authority, courage or support to proactively get rid of elements which threaten quality people's lives. Furthermore, they are directed by political criminals right up the line so there is no hope of the situation changing for them.
You better be prepared to protect yourself and intervene when you see brazen criminals abusing other citizens. Otherwise, all that you hold dear will be taken by the lawless.
