Title: Do you need someone else to Receive a Blessing

The Impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man - Joh 5:7

Let's take a look at the encounter Jesus had with the lame man at the pool of Bethesda.

After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
Now there is at Jerusalem by the Sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew Tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
In these lay a Great multitude of Impotent folk, of Blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the Water.

For an Angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the Water: whoever then first after the troubling of the Water stepped in was made Whole of whatsoever Disease he had.
And a certain man was there, which had an Infirmity thirty and eight years.
When Jesus saw him Lie, and knew that he had been now a long Time in that case, he says unto him, Will you be made Whole?

The Impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the Water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steps down before me.
Jesus says unto him, Rise, take up your bed, and Walk.
And immediately the man was made Whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the Sabbath.
- Joh 5:1-9

First of all we have a legend or a superstition about the pool and an angel who would come at unpredictable times to cause the water to ripple or otherwise move. According to the legend or superstition, when the water began to move, whoever was the first to step in would be made whole.

In my opinion there was an original miracle upon which a superstition was built. God does not do things randomly to keep people guessing. Angels are ministering spirits. They do not make random appearances to men. There is always a specific purpose in their appearances.

Was the water troubled by an angel? No. It was probably just a 'dust devil' or 'mini whirlwind' that caused the water to move. Was the first person healed when the water was troubled? Yes. How? By faith.

Jesus talked about Faith as a Force that can move mountains, that can provide whatever you desire, that can heal the sick, that can raise the dead, that can calm the storms.

But what about God? God is the source of the Power in the Force of Faith.

Does Faith work without directly invoking God? Yes. That is how according to the legend the first person who stepped into the water when it was 'troubled' was healed. They believed they would be healed.

Why was it only the first person that got healed? Because the legend said so. The people believed the legend and so only the first person was healed and only when the water was troubled.

God Loves us so much that He has established Faith as the means by which we access the provision of Grace.

Jesus responded to the lame man's Faith by telling him "Rise, take up your bed, and Walk".
Jesus freed the man from the power of the legend so that his Faith could manifest wholeness.

The man was immediately made whole by his Faith, took up his bed and walked away.

Jesus told us to "Have Faith in God". We are to Believe that God has provided all things for Life and Godliness in Heavenly places that may be appropriated in the Physical world by Faith.

What Jesus imparted to all whom He healed was Faith. They received His Faith into their Hearts. He even told several people that were healed that their Faith had made them whole.

You need no angel to trouble the waters. You need NoMan to help you into the water. You need to simply step into the Water of Life by Faith to Receive from God.
You only need Faith in God.
