Title: Good idea, bad implementation

A new bill was just signed reserving 375,000 more acres of states' lands to WashingtonDC control.

Though I think it is a good thing to reserve some lands from development, it is not the federal government's right to do this. It is restricted by the Constitution to controlling land necessary for national defense (forts, armories, etc.) The states should do preservation for appropriate lands within their borders.

D.C now controls as much land as California and Texas combined. As we see in the news, D.C. is no longer the friend of the people with attacks against the Constitution, attacks against private citizens, attacks against the states. We know that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

So, in the long run, this legislation is bad for the people though it may be good for the land.
