Things God cannot do by Barry Bennett
We often Hear people Say, “well, You Know God can do anything.” It is usually said in response to some unfortunate event in Life that God apparently didn’t want to get involved in. The meaning is clear; “if He can do anything and He didn’t get involved in your situation, then it is because He has some greater, mysterious Purpose in your loss.”
Is God’s lack of interest the real Problem? Is there some mysterious Purpose in your Suffering? Why does He Say, “My people are destroyed for lack of Knowledge”? (Hosea 4:6)
Consider what God cannot do:
God cannot Lie: “it is impossible for God to Lie” (Heb. 6:17-18)
God cannot Deny Himself: “He cannot Deny Himself.” (2 Tim. 2:11-13)
God cannot be Tempted with Evil: “God cannot be Tempted by Evil” (James 1:13)
God cannot tempt anyone: “nor does He Himself tempt anyone.” (James 1:13)
No Doubt we could find more examples. The point is that God has declared and decreed how man is to interact with Him and with his environment. His Grace has equipped us to be more than conquerors. We have His Covenant, His Blood, His Name, His Spirit, His armor, His promises, the Keys to His Kingdom, the Authority to Bind and Loose, His Faith and His Word. We are virtually overwhelmed with His Provision! And on top of that, He has chosen to Live IN us! (John 14:23)
God cannot Lie and He cannot Deny what He has decreed. He won’t be Tempted to break His Word nor can He or Will He tempt or Test You with Evil! And Evil includes Sickness (Acts 10:38, Luke 6:6-11). He wants You to Reign in Life (Rom. 5:17). But He won’t do it for You. He can’t. He has given You Dominion in this Earth (Gen. 1:26-28 Ps. 8:3-6). It is Time to Believe Him, Stand up and Walk in His Purpose. You can do it! God cannot Lie.
“If You can Believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mk. 9:23)
