I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. ( (John 17:14 )
How would you like to receive a gift from Jesus? Included in all that He has given us (forgiveness, reconciliation, promises, the Spirit, etc.) is the gift of the Word. This most precious gift reveals all of the other gifts, just like the key to the front door of a new house opens the way to see all that is in the house. Without the key, you will always be on the outside looking in!
Jesus is the Word made flesh, the Word that was sent to heal, deliver and save us. He manifested the Word, taught the Word and demonstrated the Word for three and a half years. At the end of His ministry He prayed to the Father and said, ‘I have given them Thy Word.’ His life before them was the Word made flesh.
He also revealed Himself in the Old Testament.
And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself. ( (Luke 24:27 )
And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures. (Luke 24:45)
The Word of God is Jesus’ gift to you! He wants you to comprehend the Scriptures and know Him. In the Bible you will find all of the blessings, promises and keys to the abundant life. Not only is Jesus the true revelation of God to man, the Word of God is the revelation of Jesus. You cannot know Jesus apart from His Word.
“these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.” ( (John 20:30-31 )
The mysteries of the Kingdom are revealed in the Word. The principles of abundant life are explained. The revelation of God’s love for you is unlocked. The Word is spiritual. It is alive with God’s life, authority, faith, healing power, grace and love. Don’t neglect the gift of the Word.
