What in all of Creation has IntrinsicValue ?
The Heavens and Earth shall pass away. Mar 13:31 2Pe 3:10
This means there is no IntrinsicValue in Creation . It may be destroyed without meaningful loss.
Is there anything that has IntrinsicValue ?
Before answering that question let's consider the concept of ImputedValue .
ImputedValue is Value that is assigned subjectively to something.
Many things have ImputedValue based on the needs and wants of Humans .
But ImputedValue is always arbitrary.
In FreeMarket Economics True Value is determined by how much someone is willing to pay for an item.
An owner of an item in the maketplace may set any price he wishes on his product. But until a buyer comes along who will offer his asking price, his valuation is arbitrary.
So, we need to Understand very clearly that how much we Value anything is subjective and, in fact, may have no IntrinsicValue at all.
Have you ever bought a new car?
Regardless of the deal you got when you bought it, one day after its purchase it is most likely worth significantly less than you paid for it.
Why is this? Because the car has no IntrinsicValue . It only has ImputedValue .
Keep that car for 20 years and you may possibly have to pay someone to take it to the car crushing facility.
Why all this Economic theory?
Because Economc theory was instituted by God . It is part of the Order He established when He Created the Universe .
What does this have to do with me and my Spirituality ?
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. - 1Jn 2:15
Jesus said unto him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. - Mat 22:37
And the second is like unto it, You shall love your neighbour as thyself. - Mat 22:39
This is my commandment, That you love one another, as I have loved you. - Joh 15:12
In the above Scriptures we see Christ Jesus defining what has IntrinsicValue and what does not.
Things that have IntrinsicValue :
- God
- People
Things that have no IntrinsicValue :
- everything else besides God and people
Even Christians have the right to ignore the things that God has ordained as having IntrinsicValue and persist in substituting ImputedValue to what God does not Value .
However, this is a Perversion of our purpose and a hindrance to our Prosperity .
In the Old Testament , things that were assigned ImputedValue greater than the InstrinsicValue of God were called Idols .
They are still Idols .
Now, let's get specific here. What Idols have we set up? What things have we assigned ImputedValue to which supplant the things which God has ascribed IntrinsicValue to?
- Wealth
- Power
- Popularity
- Nature
- Animals
- Entertainment
- Our Flesh
Remember, things that only have ImputedValue will pass away. Those things that have IntrinsicValue are Eternal .
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust does corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust does corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: - Mat 6:19,20
Whatever resource you invest in something is unavailable for investment in something else.
You know that you were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as you were led. - 1Co 12:2
Don't be led by PublicOpinion or fads or PoliticalCorrectness into Idol Worship as you once were.
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. - Rom 1:25
This is what the unregenerated Mind and Heart does. It places Value on the wrong things. This leads to disappointment, weakness, failure and death.
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. - Rom 8:6
But the transformed Mind and Heart Values the things that are Eternal and so experiences Life and Peace .
