Jesus is the annointer and His Holy Spirit is the annointing.   

When a person receives Christ Jesus, they receive the holy Spirit Of Christ Jesus.   

When a person is SpiritBaptized the Holy Spirit makes His abode in them.   At that point they have the annointing and are annointed.   

The manifestation of the annointing is dependent on the mind and heart of the annointed.   
Depending on the focus and attention given to the Word and Holy Spirit
   → a person may feel like they have lost the annointing or
   → they may feel especially or powerfully annointed.   

The only time we do truly amazing things is by the Holy Spirit.   Humility is wisdom and understanding.   

I am the vine, you are the branches: He that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing. Joh 15:5 The vine is Jesus.      The life that is in Jesus is the Holy Spirit Joh 1:4.      Jesus is the body and soul of the Holy Spirit Heb 1:3.      In Christ we become physical extensions of the body of Jesus by His Word and Holy Spirit in us 1Co 12:27.      We cannot abide physically in Jesus nor can Jesus abide physically in us.     We abide in His Word and His Holy Spirit, and His Word and His Holy Spirit abide in us Joh 15:7.      We are Born Again receiving Eternal Life by faith in the Word Of The Lord concerning Jesus Rom 10:9,10 and so become branches of the true vine.     We are enabled to do the Word Of The Lord by the power of His Holy Spirit Phi 4:13.      The Fruit that we bear is Spirit Fruit.     Without the Word and Holy Spirit we can do nothing of heavenly value Zec 4:6.

I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. Phi 4:13 Christ means 'annointed One'.     The annointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit.      The strength of Christ Jesus is His Holy Spirit.      The disciples were commanded to stay in Jerusalem until they were endued with the power of the Holy Spirit.      We are not limited by our physical assets.      We can deal with any circumstance, overcome any obstacle and accomplish whatsoever we desire Mar 11:24 by power of the Holy Spirit.      The Holy Spirit of Jesus is our power to accomplish His will.

`Christ ` means "annointed one".   The annointing is His Holy Spirit on us and in us.   

So here is how you can put the two verses together:

Without the annointing of the Holy Spirit I can do nothing, but with the annointing of the Holy Spirit I can do any thing.   

The Holy Spirit Of Christ Jesus is not optional equipment for a Christian.
