When I was a child , I spake as a child , I understood as a child , I thought as a child : but when I became a man , I put away childish things .(thought: or, reasoned)(put away: Gr. vanish away)

There is a maturing process that we go through in the flesh.
There is a maturing process that we go through in our souls as well.

But just as our old spirit was unsalvageable, so is our soul and our body.

We were Born Again as New Spirit beings. We must also be translated from a corruptible soul and body to having an incorruptible soul and body at His appearing.

And again , The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise , that they are vain .

vain is empty and worthless at best and destructive at worst.

And Saul said , Thus shall ye say to David , The king desireth not any dowry , but an hundred foreskins of the Philistines , to be avenged of the king's enemies . But Saul thought to make David fall by the hand of the Philistines .

Now Hannah , she spake in her heart ; only her lips moved , but her voice was not heard : therefore Eli thought she had been drunken .

Nevertheless Saul spake not any thing that day : for he thought , Something hath befallen him, he [is] not clean ; surely he [is] not clean .

[And] when they were come to the land of Zuph , Saul said to his servant that [was] with him, Come , and let us return ; lest my father leave [caring] for the asses , and take thought for us.

Wherefore when we could no longer forbear , we thought it good to be left at Athens alone ;

Apparently, Paul was being held in Athens.

And Rehoboam made Abijah the son of Maachah the chief , [to be] ruler among his brethren : for [he thought] to make him king .

After these things , and the establishment thereof, Sennacherib king of Assyria came , and entered into Judah , and encamped against the fenced cities , and thought to win them for himself.(to win�: Heb. to break them up)

Casting down imaginations , and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God , and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ ;(imaginations: or, reasonings) Anchored to Act 7:51

The strongholds of the enemy are imaginations - ideas, opinions and philosophy - which resist the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ

The worst stronghold in the church is that which has resisted the knowledge of the Holy Spirit who is the Spirit Of Christ Jesus .

Jesus came for the express purpose of us receiving His Holy Spirit and so be conformed to His image .

What 'imagination' is it that exalts itself over the knowledge of the Holy Spirit?
It is the 'imagination' that there is a 'person' in the godhead who is not Christ Jesus who is worthy of worship.

We must give all honour, praise and glory to Christ Jesus. To hold another 'imagination' of God than Jesus is idolatry.
Furthermore, to resist the Holy Spirit, is to resist Christ Jesus Himself.

Let your understanding of 'God' begin and end with the Lord Jesus Christ
   → in whose name you are saved
   → who wields all power in heaven and earth
   → who will judge the quick and the dead at His appearing.

Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren , that they would go before unto you , and make up beforehand your bounty , whereof ye had notice before , that the same might be ready , as [a matter of] bounty , and not as [of] covetousness .(bounty: Gr. blessing)(whereof�: or, which hath been so much spoken of before)

The brothers were sent to receive the offerings and make report back to Paul of what had been collected.

But Naaman was wroth , and went away , and said , Behold, I thought , He will surely come out to me, and stand , and call on the name of the LORD his God , and strike his hand over the place , and recover the leper .(I thought: Heb. I said. or, I said with my self, He will surely come out, etc).(strike: Heb. move up and down)

And Amnon was so vexed , that he fell sick for his sister Tamar ; for she [was] a virgin ; and Amnon thought it hard for him to do any thing to her.(Amnon thought�: Heb. it was marvellous, or, hidden in the eyes of Amnon)

And the woman said , Wherefore then hast thou thought such a thing against the people of God ? for the king doth speak this thing as one which is faulty , in that the king doth not fetch home again his banished .

When one told me, saying , Behold, Saul is dead , thinking to have brought good tidings , I took hold of him, and slew him in Ziklag , who [thought] that I would have given him a reward for his tidings :(thinking�: Heb. he was in his own eyes as a bringer, etc)(who�: or, which was the reward I gave him for his tidings)

While Peter thought on the vision , the Spirit said unto him , Behold , three men seek thee .

And he went out , and followed him ; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel ; but thought he saw a vision .

But Paul thought not good to take him with them , who departed from them from Pamphylia , and went not with them to the work .

Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you , that God should raise the dead ?

I verily thought with myself , that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth .

But Peter said unto him , Thy money perish with thee , because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money .

Repent therefore of this thy wickedness , and pray God , if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee .

For, lo, he that formeth the mountains , and createth the wind , and declareth unto man what [is] his thought , that maketh the morning darkness , and treadeth upon the high places of the earth , The LORD , The God of hosts , [is] his name .(wind: or, spirit)

As for thee , O king , thy thoughts came [into thy mind] upon thy bed , what should come to pass hereafter : and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass .(came: Cald. came up)

Every person who has power or position sooner or later speculates on what will happen to him in terms of succession.

29

But as for me , this secret is not revealed to me for [any] wisdom that I have more than any living , but for [their] sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the king , and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart .(but for�: or, but for the intent that the interpretation may be made known to the king)

Daniel makes it clear that it is his God that deserves the credit.

30

Then Daniel , whose name [was] Belteshazzar , was astonied for one hour , and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake , and said , Belteshazzar , let not the dream , or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said , My lord , the dream [be] to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies .

I thought it good to shew the signs and wonders that the high God hath wrought toward me.(I thought�: Cald. It was seemly before me)

I saw a dream which made me afraid , and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.

33

[Now] the queen , by reason of the words of the king and his lords , came into the banquet house : [and] the queen spake and said , O king , live for ever : let not thy thoughts trouble thee, nor let thy countenance be changed :

Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart , saying , The seventh year , the year of release , is at hand ; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother , and thou givest him nought; and he cry unto the LORD against thee, and it be sin unto thee.(thought: Heb. word)(wicked: Heb. Then shall ye do unto him, as he had thought to have done unto his brother : so shalt thou put the evil away from among you.

38

Curse not the king , no not in thy thought ; and curse not the rich in thy bedchamber : for a bird of the air shall carry the voice , and that which hath wings shall tell the matter .(thought: or, conscience)

And he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the people of Mordecai : wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that [were] throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus , [even] the people of Mordecai .

So Haman came in . And the king said unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the king delighteth to honour ? Now Haman thought in his heart , To whom would the king delight to do honour more than to myself?(whom the king�: Heb. in whose honour the king delighteth)

41

And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people .

Our Lord does not repent. He doesn't make mistakes so there is no reason to.

This does not mean that He is not disappointed by our foolishness and weakness and unbelief.

Our Lord's promises are yes and amen. He could not violate His promise to Abraham and maintain His integrity.

42

Thus saith the Lord GOD ; It shall also come to pass, [that] at the same time shall things come into thy mind , and thou shalt think an evil thought :(think�: or, conceive a mischievous purpose)

43

And Abraham said , Because I thought , Surely the fear of God [is] not in this place ; and they will slay me for my wife's sake .

44

When Judah saw her , he thought her [to be] an harlot ; because she had covered her face .

45

And Israel said unto Joseph , I had not thought to see thy face : and, lo, God hath shewed me also thy seed .

46

But as for you, ye thought evil against me; [but] God meant it unto good , to bring to pass , as [it is] this day , to save much people alive .

47

And GOD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth , and [that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually .(every�: or, the whole imagination: the Hebrew word signifieth not only the imagination, but also the purposes and desires)(continually: Heb. every day)

Our Lord created humanity for us to be His children - to be like Him.
We exist at His pleasure.

The people at the time of The Flood had completely disconnected from the Lord and His purpose for them.
The Lord destroyed that generation because they were filthy, dishonourable and irreversably aligned with Satan.

The elites of this world (who control the Seven Mountains of influence) are in the same state of corruption as during Noah's day. They too will be destroyed.

The Lord saved Noah and his family while He destroyed everyone else.

When Jesus returns He will do the same thing. He will catch all believers, dead and living, up to Him in the air. Then He will destroy the unbelievers and their monuments with the Word Of His Mouth.

And just as there was a new beginning for the world under Noah, there will be a new Millennial Kingdom under our Lord Jesus Christ.

48

Of how much sorer punishment , suppose ye , shall he be thought worthy , who hath trodden under foot the Son of God , and hath counted the blood of the covenant , wherewith he was sanctified , an unholy thing , and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace ?

This verse applies to all who reject the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

49

For the word of God [is] quick , and powerful , and sharper than any twoedged sword , piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit , and of the joints and marrow , and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart .

The Word of the Lord destroys our Sin Nature and makes us a New Spirit being.
   → If we stay in the Word it will transform our minds to the Mind Of Christ.
   → If we trust the Word it will heal our Bodies.
   → By the Word and the Holy Spirit we come to have the thoughts and intents of the Lord so purifying our hearts.

50

The LORD of hosts hath sworn , saying , Surely as I have thought , so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed , [so] shall it stand :

51

Let the wicked forsake his way , and the unrighteous man his thoughts : and let him return unto the LORD , and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God , for he will abundantly pardon .(the unrighteous�: Heb. the man of iniquity)(abundantly�: Heb. multiply to pardon)

52

For my thoughts [are] not your thoughts , neither [are] your ways my ways , saith the LORD .

53

For [as] the heavens are higher than the earth , so are my ways higher than your ways , and my thoughts than your thoughts .

Their feet run to evil , and they make haste to shed innocent blood : their thoughts [are] thoughts of iniquity ; wasting and destruction [are] in their paths .(destruction: Heb. breaking)

   → attracted and addicted to evil

   → prone to undermine and attack those who are good

   → ever thinking of ways to satisfy self

   → disrupting and destroying whereever they go

55

I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people , which walketh in a way [that was] not good , after their own thoughts ;

56

For I [know] their works and their thoughts : it shall come , that I will gather all nations and tongues ; and they shall come , and see my glory .

57

Are ye not then partial in yourselves , and are become judges of evil thoughts ?

The Lord values our hearts, not our flesh. We must be transformed to see things as the Lord does.

58

If that nation , against whom I have pronounced , turn from their evil , I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.

God does not repent because He never makes a mistake.

Our Lord is disappointed when we are foolish, weak, unbelieving and disobedient.

In this passage we see how the law of God works. When we repent and change our ways, we avoid the curse of the law and begin to thrive in the blessings of the law.

59

The anger of the LORD shall not return , until he have executed , and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart : in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly .

In Christ Jesus the Holy Spirit made it possible for us to be redeemed and brought into oneness fellowship with Him. However, the rebellious, those that choose the broad way and the wide gate, will bear the brunt of His displeasure at the End Of The Age when Christ Jesus returns.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD , thoughts of peace , and not of evil , to give you an expected end .(expected�: Heb. end and expectation)

O Jerusalem , wash thine heart from wickedness , that thou mayest be saved . How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?

Hear , O earth : behold, I will bring evil upon this people , [even] the fruit of their thoughts , because they have not hearkened unto my words , nor to my law , but rejected it.

He that is ready to slip with [his] feet [is as] a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease .

And the princes of Issachar [were] with Deborah ; even Issachar , and also Barak : he was sent on foot into the valley . For the divisions of Reuben [there were] great thoughts of heart .(foot: Heb. his feet)(thoughts: Heb. impressions)(For: or, In)

But he , knowing their thoughts , said unto them , Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation ; and a house [divided] against a house falleth .

Common Sense reaponse.

75

And when they bring you unto the synagogues , and [unto] magistrates , and powers , take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer , or what ye shall say :

The Holy Spirit will speak through those who are Baptised in Him as needed in all situations.

76

And he thought within himself , saying , What shall I do , because I have no room where to bestow my fruits ?

77

And he said unto his disciples , Therefore I say unto you , Take no thought for your life , what ye shall eat ; neither for the body , what ye shall put on .

The Lord wants to provide for all our physical needs so that we can focus on spiritual matters - preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

78

And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit ?

Most things are out of our control so we aught to just relax.

79

If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least , why take ye thought for the rest ?

The thied steals our moments one at a time by causing our minds to dwell on the future or the past.

80

And as they heard these things , he added and spake a parable , because he was nigh to Jerusalem , and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear .

The Millennial Kingdom was still way out in the future.

81

And he said unto them , Why are ye troubled ? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts ?

82

(Yea , a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also ), that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed .

This is speaking to the crucifixion and the evil hearts that were revealed by it.

83

But when Jesus perceived their thoughts , he answering said unto them , What reason ye in your hearts ?

Our hearts function best in faith - not in reasoning.

84

But he knew their thoughts , and said to the man which had the withered hand , Rise up , and stand forth in the midst . And he arose and stood forth .

The Spirit of discernment is necessary for us to know how to speak and act with respect those around us.

85

Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee : but say in a word , and my servant shall be healed .

He understands the power of words and faith.

86

And Jesus , perceiving the thought of their heart , took a child , and set him by him ,

Humble faith snd service elevates a person in the Lord's eyes.

87

Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another : and the LORD hearkened , and heard [it], and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD , and that thought upon his name .

88

But when they shall lead [you], and deliver you up , take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak , neither do ye premeditate : but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour , that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak , but the Holy Ghost .

The Holy Spirit will give us the unction and the Utterance to say exactly what should be said, knowing the hearts of the people before whom we stand.

And the second time the cock crew . And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him , Before the cock crow twice , thou shalt deny me thrice . And when he thought thereon , he wept .(when�: or, he wept abundantly, or, he began to weep)

Remorse is good but repentance is better. On the day of pentecost Peter would demonstrate His repentance.

For from within , out of the heart of men , proceed evil thoughts , adulteries , fornications , murders ,

Our heart is our character and the essence of who we are. If it is good it produces good. If it is evil it produces evil.

91

But when they deliver you up , take no thought how or what ye shall speak : for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak .

Holy Spirit gves utterance in the Prayer Language and He gives utterance in the face of the enemy.

92

And Jesus knew their thoughts , and said unto them , Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation ; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand :

Jesus explains that their thinking is idiotic. no enterprise that works against itself can thrive.

93

For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts , murders , adulteries , fornications , thefts , false witness , blasphemies :

The Sin Nature, which is a heart state, is capable of nothing but evil communications.

94

But while he thought on these things , behold , the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream , saying , Joseph , thou son of David , fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife : for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost .(conceived: Gr. begotten) Anchored to Act 1:5

Jesus was fathered by the Holy Spirit. Later when we hear Jesus talk about the Father, He is talking about the Holy Spirit.

Therefore I say unto you , Take no thought for your life , what ye shall eat , or what ye shall drink ; nor yet for your body , what ye shall put on . Is not the life more than meat , and the body than raiment ?

Jesus is telling us that the Lord is our provider and He guarantees our health and prosperity. no need for us to fret over either.

96

Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature ?

We were designed by the Lord. Our limits were set by the Lord. It is impossible for us to make anything of ourselves that the Lord has not willed. We can, however, destroy ourselves.

97

And why take ye thought for raiment ? Consider the lilies of the field , how they grow ; they toil not , neither do they spin :

Clothing is just a specific part of the Lord's provision.

98

Therefore take no thought , saying , What shall we eat ? or , What shall we drink ? or , Wherewithal shall we be clothed ?

Jesus is telling us not to worry about the provisions for life. It is not what we were designed to do. He has bigger and better things to occupy us.

99

Take therefore no thought for the morrow : for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself . Sufficient unto the day [is] the evil thereof .

We are incapable of anticipating all the issues of tomorrow. Hence, all our plans are apt to fail. focus on the task in front of you today. The Holy Spirit is the eternal 'I AM'. He wants us to focus on what He is doing today.

And Jesus knowing their thoughts said , Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts ?

It is evil to disbelieve in Jesus Christ.

But they know not the thoughts of the LORD , neither understand they his counsel : for he shall gather them as the sheaves into the floor .

That Sanballat and Geshem sent unto me, saying , Come , let us meet together in [some one of] the villages in the plain of Ono . But they thought to do me mischief .

What is the form of our Creator?
We need only look at man who was made in His image .

The Holy Spirit formed Jesus in Mary's womb for the purpose of manifesting Himself in the body of Jesus.

Since the Holy Spirit did this, Jesus did not think it presumptuous for Him to be equal with the Holy Spirit.

It is this thinking in His mind and heart that enabled Him to speak the words of the Holy Spirit and by the power of the Holy Spirit to do the works of the Holy Spirit - just as He had done in the beginning when He created all things.

106

The thoughts of the righteous [are] right : [but] the counsels of the wicked [are] deceit .

107

The thoughts of the wicked [are] an abomination to the LORD : but [the words] of the pure [are] pleasant words .(pleasant�: Heb. words of pleasantness)

Commit thy works unto the LORD , and thy thoughts shall be established .(Commit: Heb. Roll)

The thoughts of the diligent [tend] only to plenteousness ; but of every one [that is] hasty only to want .

The thought of foolishness [is] sin : and the scorner [is] an abomination to men .

Another accusation against the self-worshipper.

SAMECH. I hate [vain] thoughts : but thy law do I love .

That which is inconsistent with the Word is vain.

I thought on my ways , and turned my feet unto thy testimonies .

A life outside of Christ will produce disappointment and failure. The wise person will see this and repent.

115

How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God how great is the sum of them!

The Word Of The Lord is our foundation. It is Truth and it is life.

116

Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising , thou understandest my thought afar off .

Even the imagination of the thoughts of our heart are known to Him.

117

Search me, O God , and know my heart : try me, and know my thoughts :

He does so with or without our approval. But being comfortable and trusting with His searching is a sign of intimacy and oneness with Him.

His breath goeth forth , he returneth to his earth ; in that very day his thoughts perish .

The redemption of our soul and body will occur on the Day Of The Lord when we are translated. Until then our souls are apt to fail even when our intentions are good.

The Lord is eternal, omnipotent, omniscient and He is love and good.

When we fellowship in the Holy Spirit we are overwhelmed by His love.

Their inward thought [is, that] their houses [shall continue] for ever , [and] their dwelling places to all generations ; they call [their] lands after their own names .(all�: Heb. generation and generation)

Whether we realize it or not, we tend to think and act like we will live forever in the Physical Realm.

123

These [things] hast thou done , and I kept silence ; thou thoughtest that I was altogether [such an one] as thyself: [but] I will reprove thee, and set [them] in order before thine eyes .

people do not understand the fact that we are in the dispensation of Grace.

Because of the shed blood of Christ, there is no judgment for sin. But the Day Of Wrath is coming upon all who refuse the Lord's sacrifice for sin.

Every day they wrest my words : all their thoughts [are] against me for evil .

In this psalm David is wrestling in fear of his enemies. Though he knows in his mind that the Lord is his defender, he does not know it in his heart. Otherwise, he would declare victory while still under assault and remain in peace.

They search out iniquities ; they accomplish a diligent search : both the inward [thought] of every one [of them], and the heart , [is] deep .(they�: or, we are consumed by that which they have throughly searched)(a diligent�: Heb. a search searched)

evil digs deeper whereas good reaches higher.

Coming to the realization of the Truth can be very painful if there is pride and conceit in the heart.

O LORD , how great are thy works [and] thy thoughts are very deep .

We are beneficiaries of our magnificent Heavenly Father.

Man is typically short-sighted, ignoring, if not totally unaware of, the Lord's plan for mankind.

Unless we are thinking of the Lord, it is as if He is far from us, when the reality is that He will never leave or forsake us.

The common general sense of good and evil is a gift to humanity.

And I thought to advertise thee, saying , Buy [it] before the inhabitants , and before the elders of my people . If thou wilt redeem [it], redeem [it]: but if thou wilt not redeem [it, then] tell me, that I may know : for [there is] none to redeem [it] beside thee; and I [am] after thee. And he said , I will redeem [it].(I thought�: Heb. I said, I will reveal in thine ear)

But my words and my statutes , which I commanded my servants the prophets , did they not take hold of your fathers ? and they returned and said , Like as the LORD of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways , and according to our doings , so hath he dealt with us.(take�: or, overtake)

For thus saith the LORD of hosts ; As I thought to punish you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath , saith the LORD of hosts , and I repented not:

God does not repent because He never makes a mistake.

Our Lord is disappointed when we are foolish, weak, unbelieving and disobedient.

The law of God contains both blessing and cursing in it. Obedience brings the blessing while rebellion brings the curse.
