Success is a Good thing. When God performed each creative act He said: "It is Good ". God was very successful.
The Seven Mountains , the Seven Spheres of Influence are:
Business , Government , Family , Religion , Media , Education , Entertainment.
Let`s consider these Mountains with respect to the Kingdom of God on a Spiritual and Secular level.
Is a Poor farmer more Righteous than a Rich farmer by virtue of his poverty?
Is the janitor more Righteous than the CEO because of his lowly position?
Is the uneducated person more Righteous than an educated person because of his ignorance?
Is a journeyman performer more Righteous than a mega-star because of his struggles?
I could go on with these questions but the answer is always "no". We are Righteous by imputation through the Grace of God by Faith in Christ Jesus.
What can the poor farmer, the janitor, the uneducated, the journeyman do to shape Society for Christ ? Answer: Small deeds in their small circle with limited resources.
What can the rich farmer, the CEO , the Phd Professor the mega-star do to shape Society ?
Answer: Great Deeds by Virtue of Wealth , Power , standing and influence in a large circle.
Small Deeds are Good. Great Deeds are, well, Great !.
God wants His Children to be the head and not the tail!
There is no Glory in surviving. There is Glory in Glory !
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and Preach the Gospel to every creature.
But as many as Received him, to them gave he Power to become the Sons of God , even to them that Believe on his Name :
But ye are a chosen generation, a Royal priesthood, an Holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the Praises of Him who hath called You out of Darkness into his marvellous Light :
Beloved, Now are we the Sons of God , and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we Know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall See him as he is.
13 Ye are the salt of the Earth : but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 14 Ye are the Light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only , and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the Commandments of the Lord thy God , which I Command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
Here is an extremely logical argument for Christians aspiring to the top of these mountains:
How better to show your Light than from the top?
But, some would argue that we are to "be separate" from the world.
For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the Knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ , they are again entangled therein, and overcome , the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life ; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
What is meant by "entangled"?
"To become twisted together with or caught in."
The warning in the above Scriptures is against becoming polluted or corrupted by the world Systems. It is not a warning to abstain from these Systems.
The Secular world is a set of Systems with each System serving its own interests. That, in and of itself, is not Evil.
A System with operating procedures which violate a Christian`s Moral code are the threat. When a Christian tries to operate within such a System they have to guard against entanglement.
Entanglement occurs when we Sacrifice our Moral code to the operating procedures of the System.
So, the easy way for Christians to respond to the warnings of Scripture and the realities of how the world Systems operate is to simply not get involved any more than necessary.
A soldier with a yellow streak down his back should not go into battle. At the least he will be killed and at the worst he will be responsible for his and his comrades deaths.
You don`t have to worry about a well trained soldier turning and running, sacrificing his comrades or going over to the enemy.
We must not just be Believers in Christ but also His Disciples. A Disciple is properly trained and prepared for the battle.
We must begin to train our Children to be Disciples so that they can scale the Mountains of Influence and take the summits as the Light of the world.
That`s what retaking the 7 mountains ( spheres ) of influence is all about!
