Being Aware of something is critical for us to be able to avoid or take advantage of something.
We need to be Aware of the dangers in our life . Otherwise, accidents occur and wrong decisions are made.
We need to be Aware of the opportunities that come along. Otherwise we do not take advantage of them and so do not receive the blessing .
There is a difference between Knowing something and being Aware of that something.
Have you ever said to yourself; "I knew better than to do that." ?
What you are confessing is that you Knew something but at a particular moment you were not Aware of it.
We cannot be Aware of something we do not Know . But we can be un - Aware of something that we do Know .
Only those things in our Knowledge that we are Aware of make a difference in our lives.
Notice the word "concerned" in the definition of Aware . Concerned means that you are giving attention to something.
When we give attention to something we allow our Knowledge of that something to be recalled and applied to that something.
Jesus said this regarding us and the thief that would steal from us:
Luke 12:39
And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.
He is telling us that we need to be Aware of the thief - our enemy . We need to recognize him and be Aware of his mode of operation.
If we are not Aware of the enemy we will be victimized by him. If we are Aware of him we can stop him in his tracks.
The HolySpirit said this to us through Paul:
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Being Aware of who we are in Christ Jesus and being Aware of His Promises to us will make a positive difference in our lives.
Speaking the Truth about us in Christ Jesus reinforces our awareness of who we are and informs both enemies and friends of what to expect from us.
Luke 4:18
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
This is Christ being Aware of who He is. It empowerwd Him to do what He did.
Be Aware that this passage of Luke applies to you as well as to Christ !
John 14:12
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
John 14:16
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Be Aware of the Truth and you will recognize a Lie .
