Our perception of what is sane is determined by our own sanity.   

Man was created in the image of God Gen 1:26 .   

Adam was perfectly sane for a while...   

But eventually he received information that conflicted with his original instructions, his original programming Gen 3:4,5 .   

If Adam was sane, why did he not discard the information received from Satan through his wife, Eve?   

God had given Adam Free Will.   This gift opened the possibility for him to make bad choices.   

Why would a sane person make a bad choice since sanity is the ability to properly assess information?   

Obviously, the bad choice must appear to be a good choice.   

So, all that must happen for a sane person to make bad choices is that they reject prior information that indicated the choice was bad.   

In the case of Adam, he rejected the validity of God`s warning that he would die as a result of partaking of the forbidden fruit.   

So, the first step toward insanity is rejection of Truth and acceptance of a lie.   

Once the first step is taken the person who has chosen insanity as a path proceeds to layer on other lies in an attempt to create a `new sanity`.   

After all, we all want to feel good about ourselves.   

If the process by which lies are constructed and added to one`s belief system becomes an accepted process, then the progression to deeper forms of insanity is accelerated.   

All the while, the insane person is convinced of their sanity because they have cut themselves loose from the foundations of their original sanity.   In other words, they have concocted a system that is self-consistent.   

This explains how different religions crop up and enlist followers.   

It also explains how different political ideologies crop up and enlist followers.   

At this point, there are two distinctly different, actually polar-opposite, ideologies at work in the world.   
   → Secular Humanism
   → Christianity

Those on each end of the ideological spectrum are convinced that those on the other end are insane.   

So who is right?   (or should I say, `who is correct?`)

Jesus says unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me. Joh 14:6 Jesus is the Holy Spirit in flesh.     It is necessary to believe this about Jesus in order to be Born Again of the Holy Spirit.     Those who reject Jesus, reject the Holy Spirit.         → He is the Way: Jesus is the path to our Creator.         → He is the Truth: Jesus is the Truth about our Creator    → He is the Life: Jesus is the Creator by His Holy Spirit who fills us giving us life.      As disciples of Christ we must share this Gospel Truth with everyone in our lives.      It will either be a testimony for them leading to Eternal Life with Christ or a testimony against them in The Judgment leading to Eternal Death in the Lake Of Fire.     Act 4:12 Rev 20:12,15

This statement by Jesus is profound.   It directly contradicts Protagoras` claim.   It essentially defines the basis for sanity and in so doing, it defines insanity.   

Jesus, who is the Incarnate Word, is telling us that any assumption you make about existence, the purpose of life, whether or not there is a God, or whether or not there is life after death is wrong unless it is based on Him and His Words.   

As said above, insanity follows from wrong assumptions, even though those wrong assumptions make sense in the context of the reasoning that follows from them.   

So, as we look at the direction mankind is taking, we can understand
   → why we are going in that direction
   → why people are so committed to that direction
   → why they are unable to see their own insanity.   

The implications of this analysis is that any attempt to reason with an insane person is futile.   

Such attempts at reasoning reflects the wrong assumption that the insane are capable of understanding the logic from your system of sanity.   

That is a dangerous assumption reflecting insanity in your camp!   

We are not to attempt to reason with the insane.   We are to simply tell them the Truth.   If the insane has a Love Of The Truth they will receive it.   If not, they will reject it.   

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of the Holy Spirit. 1Co 1:18 The ones who perish are those who do not have a Love Of The Truth.     Such reject the Truth as foolishness.      Not only do those who reject the Truth face the Lake Of Fire in The Judgment, but they also endure a physical lifetime of bondage, hardships, disappointments, sickness and ultimate death.      We who have a Love Of The Truth understand the power of the Gospel and so are able to appropriate the provisions of the Lord's Grace including freedom, health and Abundant Life.      It is the preaching of the Gospel that delivers the power to save the one who hears, believes and receives it.     The power is not in Water Baptism but in Jesus Baptism involving His Word and His Holy Spirit.

For after that in the wisdom of the Lord the world by wisdom knew not the Lord, it pleased the Lord by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 1Co 1:21 There is no substitute for preaching the Gospel of Grace Through Faith for the unbeliever to be saved.     It may seem foolish to preach and it may seem foolish to believe but that is the prescription.

Those who are in the humanism camp will become increasingly frustrated by those who are in Christ`s camp.   Since they have no absolute moral principles, they will feel justified in going to extreme measures to eradicate those whom they consider belligerently insane ( Christians).   

On the other hand, Christians do have absolute moral standards.   They are required to love their neighbor as themselves.   So, their tactics for dealing with the insane must always be tempered by Holy Spirit love.   

Neither give place to the devil. Eph 4:27 We have to wilfully and purposefully dislodge the devil whenever and whereever we find him.     We ought always to be on attack toward him.      This principle also applies to society in general.      To give place to the devil is to give standing to him.     He has been displaced by Christ Jesus as lord of the earth.      But he now wheadles his way into men whom he uses to kill steal and destroy.     Such men aught to be confronted with the Truth.     Those that receive the Truth will be saved.     Those who reject the Truth aught to be disenfranchised.      This attitude and action is as necessary for the good of society as the disenfranchisement of Satan is for the good of the individual.

Listening to Satan was Eve`s first mistake.   

Keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Pro 4:23 Even in the New Birth we need to recognize that our New Spirit self is unable to manifest Sonship if our Soul ( Mind and Emotions) are Carnal.     They must be Transformed in order for Abundant Life to manifest.

Understand that the enemy never stops attacking.   

Submit yourselves therefore to the Lord.     Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Jam 4:7 These commands ensure victory.      The Lord wants only your best interest served, so work with Him.      Satan, on the other hand, is the enemy and must be resisted whenever and wherever he appears.      We submit from our will just as we rebel from our will.     The rebellious attitude leads to destruction while the submissive attitude leads to eternal, abundant life in the Holy Spirit.      By the way, you don't have to submit to someone who has Extreme Sovereignty.

Push back against the enemy.   

O Timothy, keep that which is committed to your trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: 1Ti 6:20 False Science is the bane of society today.     The word 'science' is used as some kind of sacred word.

Do not fall into the lies of false science.   True science can be proven.   True science reveals the truth of God`s design and creation.   

Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Eph 6:10 Jesus said without Him we can do nothing Joh 15:5.      But in the power of His Holy Spirit we can do all things Phi 4:13.      Make up your mind to draw from His strength, power and might to face the issues of life and be victorious.      We appropriate the blessings of the Lord by faith in His Word that leads us to speak with His authority backed up by the power of His Holy Spirit.

Put on the whole armour of the Lord, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Eph 6:11 Implicit in the command to put on armour is the fact that you are in a battle.     It is not possible to avoid the battle in this age of the world.      To ignore the battle is to allow the enemy to move forward and gain ground.     To fail to put on armour is to make oneself an easy victim of the enemy.     Once you are equipped with the armour you are to go into battle.      When we look at the armour, most of the implements are defensive with only one offensive weapon - the sword of the Spirit - the Word Of The Lord.     But that one weapon is all we need to move heaven and earth.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Eph 6:12 The point of this verse is clarity.     Evil is spiritual disease.     Good is spiritual health.     Evil issues from Satan.     Good issues from the Holy Spirit.      We are to see past the physical manifestation of good and evil to the spirit that inspires it.     In so doing, we operate from a position of superiority, enabling us to deal effectively to cast out the evil and to promote the good.      Flesh and blood is needed to impact the people of earth in the Physical Realm.     That is why the Lord made Himself a body and we called Him Jesus whose purpose was to redeem us from our lost state.     Likewise, Satan uses flesh and blood people to do his work in the earth.      Spiritual Wickedness is the foundation for the attacks against our faith and our work for the Kingdom Of God.      That Spiritual Wickedness comes from Satan through His deception of mankind.     Darkness is where Satan rules, using his powers of persuasion to convince men to turn away from the Lord.      When a person rejects Christ they become a Child Of Satan and unknowlingly or willingly become his instrument to steal, kill and destroy.      Flesh and blood are inspired and motivated by the spirit and soul inside it.      The spirit of every person who has not been born again is a Sin Nature.     The soul of every person who has not been Born Again is Carnal Minded.      A Sin Nature spirit and a Carnal Minded soul make for the person a tool of Satan.      Just as our spirit and soul manifests Christ, the unregenerated have spirits and souls manifesting Satan.      We do war against people who are Children Of Satan.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of the Lord, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Eph 6:13 Who sits upon the throne?     The king.      Who is the king?     Jesus.      What is the lamb?     It is a role that the king played for the purpose of salvation.      Only one can sit upon the throne.      So the king and the lamb are the same person - Christ Jesus.      The phrase 'unto him that sits upon the throne and upon the lamb' tells us that the Holy Spirit is the one who deserves 'blessing and honour and glory and power' for His work in the lamb, Christ Jesus.     Note the use of the words 'unto' and 'upon'.     We give worship unto the Holy Spirit through worshipping Christ Jesus upon whom the Holy Spirit has given glory.      Many people attempt to find the Lord and worship Him.     But the Holy Spirit ( God) cannot be found except through the person of Jesus who is the Strait Gate and the Narrow Way.      Every creature that has ever lived will one day praise The Majesty and His lamb.      Jesus is no longer a lamb.     He is Mighty God.     When reference is made of Him on the throne and Him as the lamb, we need to understand that the one on the throne is the lamb.     But His role as lamb is finished.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; Eph 6:14 We have to determine to stand    → The will to stand is all on us.         → The strength to stand is all on the Lord.      On what do we stand?      We stand on Gospel Truth, by which the righteousness of the Holy Spirit abides in us.

And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Eph 6:15 We stand firmly with our feet strongly planted in the Gospel of peace.     And wherever we go the Gospel should be evident.      But those who reject the Gospel of peace will experience the Wrath Of God Eph 5:6.      We see in Jesus' instruction to His disciples that the Gospel may be received or rejected.      Peace abides on those who receive it while the peace returns to us when the Gospel is rejected Mat 10:13.

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Eph 6:16 The Faith is what we believe.      Faith is the vehicle by which we connect to The Faith.      Faith does not just happen.     We have to take the shield of faith.      To quench a fire is to overcome it, to subdue it.      When we take the shield of faith we nullify the enemy's attempt to hurt us and put him on the run.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Holy Spirit, which is the word of the Lord: Eph 6:17 When you know that you are saved by the blood of the lamb and the Word Of Your Testimony and that there is no condemnation on you, you have the helmet of salvation.      Your offensive weapon is the sword of the Spirit - the Word Of The Lord.     It is the only offensive weapon you need.

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Holy Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Eph 6:18 Talking to the Lord in the Spirit ( Prayer Language) is how we build ourselves up in faith Jud 1:20.      It enables us to pray effectually and fervently Jam 5:16.      When we have asked and believed that we have received the request, we then persevere until we see the manifestation Mar 11:24.      When supplication is made for others we must encourage them in the faith, to believe that they have received the petition and to persevere until the manifestation.      By watching we are expecting and looking to see the manifestation.

Never forget that we are in the midst of a spiritual war in which Secular Humanists under the direction of their captain, Satan, is coming against the Kingdom Of Heaven whose captain is the Lord Jesus Christ.   

Every person you meet is on one side or the other.   Some may be fighting, some may be watching but all have an allegiance.   

And he said unto them, Go you into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mar 16:15 This is the Great Commission.     It is still in force.     We are expected to carry the Gospel to every creature.      Jesus did not expect every person to believe, but He wants us to make sure all nations hear the Gospel as it is a criteria for His return.     Mat 24:14

He that believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believes not shall be damned. Mar 16:16 Paul echoes Christ when he says we are saved by Grace Through Faith Eph 2:8.      As to Water Baptism, it is public evidence of faith in Christ.     It is not evidence to the Lord as He knows the heart of man.      Paul makes it clear that Spirit Salvation is a result of Heart Faith in Christ Jesus and oral confession that Jesus is the resurrected Christ in Rom 10:9,10.      Public Confession of Christ confirms our salvation to ourselves and those to whom we witness.     It is a precursor to lifelong sharing of the Testimony Of Jesus Christ.

He that believes on him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of the Holy Spirit. Joh 3:18 The only criteria the Holy Spirit has for us is that we receive His Son.     The only sin that will send a person to the Lake Of Fire is the sin of not believing on Christ Jesus.

And whoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Rev 20:15 Everyone who rejects Christ Jesus will be cast into the Lake Of Fire.      Rejecting Christ Jesus is the Unpardonable Sin.
