Vicarious

Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. - Rom 12:15

We need to enjoy other's enjoyment. We need to console those who suffer. Why? Because that is what God does. It is all a part of being like our Heavenly Father.

Furthermore, when we learn to enjoy others being Blessed we expand our own Pleasure and Happiness.
Likewise, when we share in other's Grief our own Hearts are made more tender as we help in the Healing process.

As is the case with all the WordOfGod, it is just smart tending toward Life.

I first heard the Word 'Vicarious' in the context of "Vicarious Atonement".

In this term we Understand how we paid the price for Sin and Death through the Sacrifice of Christ Jesus.

That is a Beautiful, Transforming Reality for those who Trust in Him.

Contrast this use of "Vicarious" with that which the Entertainment and Sports Industry has propagated.

Through TV, Movies, Plays, Music and Books we can Vicariously experience All manner of Emotions.

Good stories with Edifying content are All too rare.

Most stories Serve to expose us to the baser elements of Humanity.

Even our Sports contests are tainted with vulgarity, trash-talking and Vain celebrations.

Love stories are no longer Beautiful but merely excuses to exercise Voyeurism on gratuitous Sex.

Jesus made it clear that Mentally Entertaining an Idea is Morally the same as performing that activity.

It's Time we stopped impeding the Spirit of God from Manifesting Abundant Life through our Vicarious Living out destructive activities.

When we Choose Vicarious Sin we Choose Death. When we Follow this Command we experience fulness if Life:

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. - Phi 4:8

Guard your Heart by filtering that which comes into it through your Mind. Those things which pass muster should be the Focus of our Thoughts.

The Abundant Eternal Life that Christ Jesus has Given us by His Grace is far superior to anything we can experience Vicariously.

We are Not meant to be observers in Life. We are meant to be Supernatural performers with our own stories of accomplishments.

Jesus Glorified the Father by being Obedient. The Father then Glorified Jesus by Giving Him a Name above every Name, by Giving Him All Power in Heaven and Earth.

Jesus gave us His Spirit so that by Him we can be Glorified as Christ Manifests Himself through us.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. - Act 1:8

We are Weak in the Flesh but by the Power of the HolySpirit we can do all things. At the top of the list of 'all things' is spreading the Gospel of Salvation by GraceThroughFaith.

Jesus did not say you will Receive Tongues or Gifts. He said you will Receive Power to be Witnesses unto Him. Tongues and Gifts are for the Church which is the BodyOfChrist.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. - Joh 14:12

This is one of the most ignored things that Jesus said. Why? Because we choose to be Believers only. We resist becoming Disciples.

Disciples Follow their Master in His footsteps learning from Him and immitating Him.

Jesus is telling us that we are to spread the Gospel, Heal the Sick, set Captives Free and make Disciples of all men.

We can only do this by the Power of the HolySpirit operating in a vessel with the MindOfChrist.

Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. - Mat 10:8

This command is His Disciples. Disciples listen to their Master, receive His Words iinto their Hearts and then the do what He has commanded.

The Army says: "be All You can be".

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. - 1Jn 3:2

Now SonsOfGod even in these mortal bodies. What Glory we will experience in the Translation at His appearing.
