Sacrifices to appease Gods has been a Ritual for thousands of years. Altars were built on which to make Sacrifices .
Christ Jesus was the last Sacrifice ever to be offered for Sin .
Hebrews 10:10
By the which Will we are Sanctified through the Offering of the Body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Hebrews 13:10
We have an Altar , whereof they have no Right to eat which Serve the Tabernacle.
John 6:51
I am the Living bread which came down from Heaven : if any man eat of this bread, he shall Live for ever: and the bread that I Will Give is my Flesh , which I Will Give for the Life of the world.
On the first Passover the Children of Israel commanded to eat the sacrifice.
Jesus told us He is the Living bread and we are to eat it. At the last supper, Jesus said: 'take eat, this is my body'.
So, we are to eat continually of the last Sacrifice ever needed - the Body of Christ Jesus. In so doing we Receive His Life .
The Only Sacrifice that should be made by a Christian is a LivingSacrifice .
Romans 12:1
I beseech You therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God , that ye present your bodies a Living Sacrifice , Holy , acceptable unto God , which is your reasonable Service.
Instead of approaching an Altar of Sacrifice we are to approach the Throne of Grace .
Hebrews 4:16
Let us therefore come Boldly unto the Throne of Grace , that we may obtain Mercy , and find Grace to Help in Time of Need.
When people approached the Altar of Sacrifice they did so in Guilt and Fear. When we approach the Throne of Grace we do so Boldly !
How should a person come to Christ then?
Should they bring an Offering for Sacrifice ?
Should they offer themselves?
Should they Give their Life to Christ ?
Let's answer these questions via Scripture rather than Tradition .
Romans 6:23
For the Wages of Sin is Death ; but the Gift of God is Eternal Life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Hosea 6:6
For I desired Mercy , and Not Sacrifice ; and the Knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
1 Peter 1:23
being BornAgain , Not of corruptible Seed , but of incorruptible, by the Word of God , which liveth and abideth for ever.
Romans 10:9
that if thou shalt Confess with thy Mouth the Lord Jesus , and shalt Believe in thine Heart that God hath raised him from the Dead , thou shalt be saved.
So, we See that a person should come to Christ empty handed but eager for the Knowledge of God. They should simply Receive the Gift of Salvation. They should Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. They should Confess that He is their Lord with their mouths.
At no point is an Altar or a New Sacrifice needed. As a matter of Fact , Offering another Sacrifice is an Abomination to God .
Ephesians 2:8
For by Grace are ye Saved through Faith ; and that Not of yourselves: it is the Gift of God :
Come Worship Christ Jesus for His Sacrifice , His Life and His Love !
In so doing, You are Born of His Spirit and Receive Eternal Life !
