Watch therefore: for you know not what hour your Lord does come. We watch for the signs He gave us so that we can know that His appearing is near. We cannot know the hour but we can know the season. |
But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. |
Therefore be you also ready: for in such an hour as you think not the Son Of Man comes. |
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. |
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you may be also. |
And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: |
Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. |
Wherein you greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, you are in heaviness through manifold temptations: |
Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in all holy conversation and godliness, |
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of the Lord, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? |
Therefore be you also ready: for in such an hour as you think not the Son Of Man comes. |
And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. |
For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. |
Watch you therefore, and pray always, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son Of Man. |
Because he has appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he has ordained; whereof he has given assurance unto all men, in that he has raised him from the dead. |
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. |
For as the lightning comes out of the east, and shines even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son Of Man be. physical lightening is visible for miles. The brightness of His coming will illuminate the whole earth instantly. |
And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; |
Which also said, You men of Galilee, why stand you gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven. |
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. We meet the Lord while He is in the air above the earth and we will never be separated from Him. |
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. It will happen suddenly with everyone seeing Him and that which is impure will be consumed with the Word of His mouth. |
Behold, he comes with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. |
And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats: |
Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, |
And this is the Father's will which has sent me, that of all which he has given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. |
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall you also appear with him in glory. |
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. This is our assurance as it was of Paul. Christ our Lord is looking forward to rewarding us for our faith in Him and our work in His vinyard. |
So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. |
And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, you shall receive a crown of glory that fades not away. |
And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his saints, |
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before the Lord; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. |
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. |
And whoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. |
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. |
