Jesus answered and said unto them, Truly I say unto you, If you have faith, and doubt not, you shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if you shall say unto this mountain, Be you removed, and be you cast into the sea; it shall be done. |
Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. |
So, we see that Jesus was a great promoter of faith - not just for Himself and His disciples but for all people. And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked: |
There are many other scriptures that speak to the importance of faith as a follower of Christ Jesus.
So why is having faith so difficult?
Ignorance of the Word
Not believing the Word
Rational mind
Counter evidence
Momentum of unbelief
Misunderstanding the Lord
Misunderstanding Grace
Peer pressure
So, how do we overcome these obstacles to faith? If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you. |
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to the Lord must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.  |
The life of faith is simple but it is demanding. It requires that our minds be conformed to the Mind Of Christ. |
