How are we saved?
For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: - Eph 2:8
We are saved because God willed it (Heb 8:12) and made it possible and legal through the shed blood of Jesus Christ (Heb 10:10).      Salvation is totally an act of God's unmerited favor - Grace.     Our part is to have Faith in His Word - the Written Word and the Incarnate Word (Act 16:31).

We have all been given The Measure Of Faith (Rom 12:3).      It is that gift of Faith than enables us to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ through whom we receive Grace (2Pe 1:3).

Once we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, the Faith Of Christ provides all the benefits of Grace (Rom 5:2).

The Faith Of Christ is the foundation of Grace (Rom 5:19).      We are not supposed to trust in our Faith but, rather, trust in the Faith Of Christ (Phi 2:8-11).

How do we overcome?

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. - Rev 12:11
This is one of the most important verses in the book of Revelation for each of us personally.

We overcome by two actions and one attitude.     The two actions;
1) Jesus shed blood
2) Our testimony.

The one attitude is
1) Being willing to die for Christ's sake.

How does a person fail to overcome?

But whoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. - Mat 10:33
Jesus is saying that to willfully and verbally deny Him before men is the Unpardonable Sin.
He states that our words against Him requires Him to speak against us to the Father.     If Jesus is not a person's advocate before the Father they are condemned to the Lake Of Fire Mat 12:32.

Faithfulness is a characteristic of God.     If Faithfulness is not a part of our character we will deny Him eventually.     A person's denial of Him will require His denial of them.

Our Testimony is critical as it is evidence of Heart Faith which is necessary for salvation.

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. - Luk 6:45
God is good and anyone who aspires to be good must be filled with God the Holy Spirit.     He it is that manifests good in us.     Phi 2:13

Our hearts must be transformed by the power of the Word and the Holy Spirit.
