Creating adhoc holidays is a sign that people have no direction or purpose in their lives. They have to come up with something new.
In Christ Jesus we have eternal life, the life of the Holy Spirit.
Remember, our Lord is the Great I Am. He is eternally now. So, we are to be consistent in our lifestyle. And that lifestyle should be one of love, joy, peace, faith, goodness and thanksgiving. Every day is supposed to be a continuation of the previous day.
This is not to say we don't enjoy unexpected surprises. It simply means we don't need them.
If you need to stop what you are doing in order to celebrate, you need to stop what you are doing.
Your life should be a celebration.
