For who makes you to differ from another?     and what have you that you did not receive ?     now if you did receive it, why do you glory, as if you had not received it?    - 1Co 4:7
Everything that we are and have is a gift from God .     So, there is no room for pride or self-glory.

For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: - 1Co 11:23
Paul begins to clarify the origin of communion and its spiritual meaning.

Moreover, brothers, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand; - 1Co 15:1
Paul received a special revelation of the Gospel from Christ Jesus while he was in Arabia ( Gal 1:17 ).      It is the Gospel of salvation by Grace Through Faith .

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; - 1Co 15:3

Not only did the Corinthians receive Paul's letter of correction, but they received the 'inspector' who came to see that it had been received .

For if he that comes preaches another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if you receive another spirit, which you have not received, or another gospel, which you have not accepted, you might well bear with him.    - 2Co 11:4
What is the other spirit ?
It is a spirit of doubt, fear and confusion which undermine our power with God .     It is the spirit of antichrist which has ever been in the world and is now being whipped to a furious pitch.

Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.    - 2Co 11:24
This is good information from a historical perspective but it has little if any spiritual value .

As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that you have received, let him be accursed.    - Gal 1:9
We are Saved by Grace through Faith .      Legalism undermines our Faith and in so doing denies us Grace which brings Salvation .     Such teaching and preaching are from the pit of Hell .

For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ .    - Gal 1:12
The Holy Spirit revealed the Gospel to Paul.

This only would I learn of you, Received you the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith ?    - Gal 3:2
The Holy Spirit is given to whomsoever Asks for Him.     There is no 7 or 12 step program to Receive Him.

And my temptation which was in my flesh you despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus .    - Gal 4:14
Apparently Paul bore the scars and dishevelment of his mistreatment but the Galatians received his preaching as if he were Christ Himself .

Those things, which you have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.    - Phi 4:9
Be a follower of Paul as he follows Christ .     In so doing the God of Peace will manifest in you.

But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God .    - Phi 4:18
At present Paul is in a good place due to their support which is, to use Old Testament terminology, a sweel smelling odour that is well pleasing to God .

As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk you in him: - Col 2:6
The expectation for those In Christ is that they allow the New Spirit to manifest in their Soul and Body .

That happens to the extent that our Minds are Transformed to the Mind Of Christ .

We are now Sons Of God but we must accept our new Identity and knowingly and willingly allow the Word and Holy Spirit to bring it to pass.

Aristarchus my fellowprisoner salutes you, and Marcus, sister's son to Barnabas, (touching whom you received commandments: if he come unto you, receive him;) - Col 4:10

And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you fulfil it.    - Col 4:17

And you became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit: - 1Th 1:6
The Gospel is not popular in secular circles nor is it popular in religious circles because it sets men free .

Accordingly those who are secular or ritualistically or legalistically religious will come against those who receive the Gospel .

Regardless of others treatment of us, we experience joy in the Holy Spirit .

For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when you received the word of God which you heard of us, you received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually works also in you that believe .    - 1Th 2:13
It is wonderful when hearers of the Word become believers and receivers of the Word that we minister to them.

Furthermore then we beseech you, brothers, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as you have received of us how you ought to walk and to please God, so you would abound more and more.    - 1Th 4:1
How do we 'please God' ?
Without faith it is impossible to please God - Heb 11:6
It is God's pleasure to give us the kingdom .      - Luk 12:32

So we see that faith pleases God because it enables us to appropriate the Kingdom Of God which it is His pleasure for us to receive .

Jesus said it this way:
I am come that you might have life and have it more abundantly - Joh 10:10

So, walk by faith in God's love and promises in an intimate, personal relationship with Him and so 'please God' .

We walk by faith and not by sight - 2Co 5:7

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved .    - 2Th 2:10
The Beast will exercise influence and power over all those who have received his mark, name or number.

Those in his power did not have a Love Of The Truth and so were Deceived,

Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother that walks disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.    - 2Th 3:6
Fellowshipping with disrupters will result in more Confusion and disorder.

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory .    - 1Ti 3:16

Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God has created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth .    - 1Ti 4:3
These will teach legalism instead of the perfect Law Of Liberty .

For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: - 1Ti 4:4
Whatever is put before you, bless it in thanksgiving and then eat it.

The overarching Truth, of which this verse is a specific example, is that our words spoken in acknowledgment of God and Faith in God are powerful .      Pro 18:21 Mat 21:21

For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; - Heb 2:2
The Angels that rebelled were cast out and will be cast into the Lake Of Fire .

But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises .    - Heb 7:6
Our Lord is not of the Aaronic priesthood but of the order of Melchisedec.

If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law), what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?    - Heb 7:11
Here is the point: the Aaronic priesthood was not perfect .     It was a type and shadow of that which is Perfect in Christ Jesus .

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins, - Heb 10:26
The willful Sin that would require another Sacrifice is the rejection of the Christ Jesus and His Finished Work .     All other Sins are Forgiven .

Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.    - Heb 11:11
Sarah's womb was opened by Faith in the Promise of God .

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth .    - Heb 11:13
Faith is like the God who instituted it - eternally now.

By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, - Heb 11:17
Abraham knew that God was able to raise Isaac from the Dead because he Believed the Promise .

Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from where also he received him in a figure.    - Heb 11:19
Abraham's body was Dead when Isaac was conceived so Abraham knew that Death was not an issue for God .

By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace .    - Heb 11:31
Rahab's Faith in the Living God caused her to trust the spies and so be delivered .     She is of the lineage of Christ Jesus .

Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: - Heb 11:35
Such people knew in their Hearts that God is Faithful .

And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: - Heb 11:39
All the Old Testament Saints never saw Christ Jesus with their eyes nor Received the Gift of Eternal Life until He came and preached to them in Paradise .

Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way ?    - Jam 2:25
Placing herself in jeopardy for the spies was evidence of Heart Faith that she and her family would be spared by the Hebrews .

Forasmuch as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; - 1Pe 1:18
Our Redemption was paid for by the precious Blood of Jesus .

As every man has received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God .    - 1Pe 4:10

For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.    - 2Pe 1:17
Peter heard the Father Praise the Son .

But the anointing which you have received of him abides in you, and you need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it has taught you, you shall abide in him.    - 1Jn 2:27
The Anointing is the Holy Spirit our teacher and we ought always defer to Him in Understanding Scripture .

I rejoiced greatly that I found of your children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father .    - 2Jn 1:4
You cannot Walk in the Truth unless you are In Christ which is to be in the Truth .

And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father .    - Rev 2:27
At Jesus' return He will translate us in the air and then He will have His Day Of Wrath to destroy those who have fought against Him.

His rulership over His enemies is with a rod of iron which will destroy them.

Remember therefore how you have received and heard, and hold fast, and repent .     If therefore you shall not watch, I will come on you as a thief, and you shall not know what hour I will come upon you.    - Rev 3:3
Christians are to pay attention.     We are not to sleep or be lazy.

And the ten horns which you saw are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast .    - Rev 17:12
The Beast will consolidate his power given to him and will appoint ten kings to do his dirty work .     But after they have served his purpose he will assume their power taking it for himself .

And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image .     These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone .    - Rev 19:20
The Beast and False Prophet were the first two cast into the Lake Of Fire .

And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.    - Rev 20:4
At his appearing the dead in Christ are raised to incorruption as well as we which are alive .     Together with the Lord we will reign for 1000 years on this earth .
