1Co 12:1-13 is obviously about SpiritGifts but underlying this discussion is the uprooting of polytheism 1Co 12:2 coming from ignorance of the LordJesusChrist Joh 1:1.

1Co 12:1-6 specifically deal with the polytheistic error that was (and still is) in the church

Humanity has a long history of polytheism, with it still being prevalent today.

Even in Christianity there are the shadows of polytheism in the form of trinitarianism.

In the Corinthian church there was a lot of ignorance and misconceptions regarding the HolySpirit and SpiritGifts.

That continues today despite this chapter due to polytheistic strongholds.

The word that keeps appearing in this chapter is the word 'one' to emphasize what was stated in Deu 6:4 - One God..

Jesus is the embodiment of His HolySpirit.     He always flowed naturally in His HolySpirit.     In so doing He said and did things that were supernatural.

The secret to understanding the HolySpirit and SpiritGifts is that we enter into a partnership, a symbiotic relationship with Him.

Follow after love, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that you may prophesy.
1Co 14:1-* is all about edification emphasizing that edifying others should be are main focus.     We need edifying and the HolySpirit PrayerLanguage enables individualized edification.     However, messages in tongues and prophesies edify the BodyOfChrist.

While we are pursuing HolySpirit love and submitting ourselves to the HolySpirit for supernatural manifestation, we ought always prophesy - preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Even so you, forasmuch as you are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that you may excel to the edifying of the church.
It is exhilerating to be used by the HolySpirit but our proper reaction to that is to continue extending the power of the HolySpirit toward those who are in need.

If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
A rebellious spirit will resist even the WordOfTheLord.

It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body.     There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
The major difference is that we will have spiritual bodies - no more natural.

Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
Fundamentally different - from natural to spiritual.

Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the HolySpirit teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
The HolySpirit is our teacher and He enables us to grow in Grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ, who manifested the love of the HolySpirit in His self-sacrifice, by spiritual revelation of the Truth.

But the natural man receives not the things of the HolySpirit: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Rationalizing blocks the flow of spiritual Truth and power.     

We must understand and accept -> that the Lord is Spirit -> that He communicates spiritually and -> that He operates spiritually.     

This is why faith is absolutely necessary to please the Lord.

The scriptures, the Bible, the WordOfTheLord defines the parameters in which the Spirit operates.     

We need to know the Word so that the HolySpirit can operate according to it in our mind and body,

But he that is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
When we take on the MindOfChrist and function from the SpiritRealm we can see clearly and make righteous judgments.     And because we are perfect in the NewSpirit being there is no accusation that can brought against us.

And I, brothers, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
Spritual Truth is only spiritually discerned.     The state of spiritual maturity of a believer determines how much spiritual truth they can receive.

If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?
People are covetous and jealous - even some believers.

You also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to the Lord by Jesus Christ.
We are to be stumblingstones ourselves, quickened by the HolySpirit always ready to share the testimony of Christ Jesus with everyone.     Our testimony is a spiritual sacrifice that pleaes the Lord.

15 
For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
Spiritual understanding comes by revelation of the Word by the HolySpirit.     We are to be filled with this knowledge which clarifies the will of the Lord in wisdom.     We ought to pray for all Christians to attain this level of connection with the Lord.

16 
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
We must willfully and purposefully allow the Word to transform our minds and hearts so that we walk in wisdom and joy, worshipping the Lord because of the Grace that has been imparted to us.

Edifying others with what the Lord reveals to us is a critical part of growing in Grace and knowledge of Him.

Freely we receive so freely we give.

Blessed be the HolySpirit Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Why was it so important that Christ Jesus leave?
So, that the HolySpirit would be poured out upon us and into us Joh 16:7 Act 2:4.

Where are heavenly places?
Heaven is the SpiritRealm where the HolySpirit is predominant.

All the blessings that have been made available to us InChrist are in the HolySpirit who is in us.     So, in some sense, we already have everything we will ever need inside of us.

When we realize the extent of the Lord's blessings upon us we cannot help but worship Him.     

Spiritual blessings are rights and privileges which open the door to specific blessings.     -> We are accepted in the Beloved Eph 1:6.     -> We can come boldly to the throne of Grace Heb 4:16.     -> All our needs are have been met by His riches Phi 4:19.     

Faith in Christ's provision enables us to take from His bountiful table of blessings the specific blessing that we need for the hour.

Grace provides, Faith appropriates.

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
Worship the Lord in Spirit (the HolySpirit) and Truth (WordOfTheLord).     

Fellowshipping with the HolySpirit and meditating on His Word is how we worship Him.     He wants us -> to know Him, -> to draw near to Him, -> to recognize that we are one with Him, -> to praise Him with our words -> to sing to Him, -> to shout His glory.     

Spiritual songs are songs with melodies that are uplifting with lyrics that echo the WordOfTheLord and His Grace and goodness.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
The point of this verse is clarity.     Evil is spiritual disease.     Good is spiritual health.     Evil issues from Satan.     Good issues from the HolySpirit.

We are to see past the physical manifestation of good and evil to the spirit that inspires it.     In so doing, we operate from a position of superiority, enabling us to deal effectively to cast out the evil and to promote the good.

Flesh and blood is needed to impact the people of earth in the PhysicalRealm.     That is why the Lord made Himself a body and we called Him Jesus whose purpose was to redeem us from our lost state.     Likewise, Satan uses flesh and blood people to do his work in the earth.     

SpiritualWickedness is the foundation for the attacks against our faith and our work for the KingdomOfGod.     

That SpiritualWickedness comes from Satan through His deception of mankind.     Darkness is where Satan rules, using his powers of persuasion to convince men to turn away from the Lord.     

When a person rejects Christ they become a ChildOfSatan and unknowlingly or willingly become his instrument to steal, kill and destroy.

Flesh and blood are inspired and motivated by the spirit and soul inside it.

The spirit of every person who has not been born again is a SinNature.     The soul of every person who has not been BornAgain is CarnalMinded.     

A SinNature spirit and a CarnalMinded soul make for the person a tool of Satan.     

Just as our spirit and soul manifests Christ, the unregenerated have spirits and souls manifesting Satan.

We do war against people who are ChildrenOfSatan.

Brothers, if a man be overtaken in a fault, you which are spiritual, restore such an one in meekness by the HolySpirit; considering yourself, lest you also be tempted.
We are to edify in all things.     Castigating the weak is not of the HolySpirit.

The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is mad, for the multitude of your iniquity, and the great hatred.
Rejection of the LordJesusChrist makes a person and a nation a fool.

And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

It has pleased them truly; and their debtors they are.     For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things.
We share both spiritual and physical blessings with our brothers.

24 
For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end you may be established;
Our desire ought to be to edify one another.

25 
For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
The Law reflects the righteousness of the Lord and attempts to reveal the spiritual qualities of the Lord.     But fallen man is born in bondage to sin through the SinNature that is transfered from father to son over all generations.     

So Saul, as are we all, was committed through Adam's sin to live in it and die in it.

26 
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Being SpiritualMinded can only be done -> by our NewSpirit being -> operating through our Soul -> which has been transformed by the Word and HolySpirit.     

In that state our thinking, meditations, speech and actions reflect Truth and we experience AbundantLife

CarnalMinded is the opposite.     -> It is disconnected from the Word and the HolySpirit.     -> It ignores our NewSpirit existence.     -> It continues to operate in the flesh.

In that state there is only disappointment, discouragement, disillusionment and death.
