Is America Great?
God loves people. People that respond to God's love are blessed. When those blessed people come together and form a nation, that nation is blessed through those people.
When blessed people become unthankful, they become unholy. They begin to think "WE have made ourselves great". At that moment God's blessings stop flowing (He resists the proud). It is then that the greatness is gone. But just as the aging beauty looks into the mirror and self-deceivingly sees herself as she once was, so does that nation who forgets God.
America is people just like every other nation.
- Our greatness is not based on our form of government. People have corrupted that government. There is only division and self-interest playing out.
- Our greatness is not our education system. We have secularized education to the point that there is no wisdom to be found in the educated (the fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom).
- Our greatness is not our "great society" with its entitlements and welfare. National bankruptcy is imminent and the entitled are convinced they are entitled to more.
- Our greatness is not our moral fiber. We have a steady diet of filth in our entertainment. Our politicians are professional liars. We do not stand up for right but constantly give ground to evil.
- Our greatness is not our natural resources. The natural resources are either owned by the federal government or regulated by it.
- Our greatness is not our industry. We make very little of what we use. 90 million Americans of working age do not work.
- Our greatness is not our military. Numbers, morale and leadership are drastically down.
- Our greatness is not our unity. We are as divided now on race, politics and gender as ever before.
- Our greatness isn't our security. Borders are open, people are buying guns, police are being murdered, our president is complicit with anarchy.
But we are still great you say. Look at our grocery stores, our malls, our skyscrapers, our resorts, our fine cars, our enormous houses, our Olympic medals!
Revelation 3:16-18
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
I pray that each American will take an honest look at themself because America is no better than the sum of its people.
May Christians realize that they are the Sons of God and begin to do the work of a Son: to be witnesses of Jesus Christ at church, in the home, on the job, on the street and wherever they go.
America is dark because Christians have not shown the Light . Rather we have given place to the devil.
It is time to shine with His Glory so that people will turn to Him. When a person turns to God, He blesses them. When the people of a nation turn to God, the nation is blessed through them. When blessings flow from God to the people of a nation, greatness becomes a reality, not just a memory and not a delusion.
