Title: Give Power or Authority to

By the powers invested in me...

In order for any work to be done there must be power.

Jesus said without Me ye can do nothing.

So, how are we to do work?

We must have Christ in us.   But Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father.

He sent us the Holy Spirit
- the same Spirit that enabled Him to do miracles and healings and raised Him from the dead!

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Christ in us is His Holy Spirit which empowers us to do the work He has in mind for us to do.

What is that work?

- To preach the Gospel to every creature.
- To convert the world into believers in Christ Jesus.
- To fulfill the Lord's Prayer : His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.
We must be filled with the Holy Spirit to do His work.   !inserr
Go you therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, even the Son, even the Holy Spirit:
We are to teach all nations.     What do we teach?     The Gospel of Jesus Christ.

What is the key component of the Gospel?     That Jesus is the Truth about our Creator.

What is the Truth?     That Jesus is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Note that 'name' is singular - there is only one name and that is Jesus.

But how can Jesus be the Father and the Son?     To understand this we must know who the Father is.     He is the Holy Spirit.

Jesus said 'I and my Father are One'.     This means that the Holy Spirit Father is the Spirit Of Christ Jesus.     Jesus spoke through the prophets about Himself by His Holy Spirit.     He then became the person He prophesied about - Jesus.

Jesus fathered Himself by His Holy Spirit, just as He raised Himself from the dead by His Holy Spirit.

So, rather than talking about some confusing trinitarian circular logic about the three-in-one godhead, we aught to recognize
that Jesus is the name of the Father,
that Jesus is the name of the Son and
that Jesus is the name of the Holy Spirit.

The 'name' of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is 'Jesus'.     Jesus is the Father.     He is the Son.     He is the Holy Spirit.

'Baptize' simply means 'immerse'.

Jesus did not specify that we be baptized in water.     Rather, He said we were to be baptized in 'the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit'.     Jesus is that name.     We are to be immersed in Him who is the Truth about deity.

The next verse clarifies this type of baptism.     It is making disciples of men, not just dousing them in water.

The Truth is that we should speak of 'God' only in the context of Jesus.     Otherwise we move into an area of speculation, mysticism and error.     Jesus is the only Truth about 'God'.     Note that we are to grow in Grace and knowledge of Christ Jesus and not 'God' .

A key aspect of the Truth of Jesus is His being the express image of the Holy Spirit, our Heavenly Father.     Jesus is a divine man.     He is Spirit Soul And Body.     His Spirit is the Holy Spirit, and that which the Holy Spirit fathered is His Soul and Body.     Jesus Is Lord.

So, teaching is the means by which people are immersed into Christ Jesus, understanding who He is, what He did and what He expects from us.

Water Baptism is a ritual and should be treated as such.     It is not spiritual.     Teaching and immersing the hearers into Jesus is the point of this verse and the next one.

In The Name Of the ( Father, Son, Holy Spirit) is In Jesus' Name.

And, behold, I send the promised Holy Spirit Father upon you: but tarry you in the city of Jerusalem, until you be endued with supernatural power.
Understanding this verse:
Jesus is giving a command (send)
A promise is an announcement of potential.
'my Father' may best be understood as 'my generator'.
The Holy Spirit is the one who generated Jesus.
Jesus is ordaining His own Spirit to come to us.
We are to wait for His Holy Spirit to come upon us and fill us before going out in Jesus' name.
When we are baptized with the Holy Spirit we then have both the authority of Jesus and the power of His Spirit in us.

Truly, truly, I say unto you, He that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
This is one of the most ignored things that Jesus said.     Why?     Because we choose to be believers only.     We resist becoming disciples.

Disciples follow their master in His footsteps learning from Him and imitating Him.

Jesus is telling us that we are to spread the Gospel, heal the sick, set captives free and make disciples of all men.

We can only do this by the power of the Holy Spirit operating in a vessel with the Mind Of Christ.

What did Jesus mean by 'I go unto my Father'?     Jesus returned to the Spirit Realm ( Heaven) when He ascended where the Holy Spirit Father is most readily experienced.     It is the seat from where The Majesty emanates throughout the universe.

How the Lord anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for the Lord was with him.
The Holy Spirit annointed Jesus as He came up out of the water from John's baptism.     The Holy Spirit was with Him and in Him speaking the words and doing the works.

For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance; as you know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
We need to speak with the authority of the Word by the power of the Holy Spirit in order to see results.

Now The Lord of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Our joy and peace come to us 'in believing' In Christ Jesus.     We receive according to our faith in Him.

Hope is positive expectations.
We are to abound in hope.

Our Heavenly Father is not only hopeful Himself but He is the fulfiller of our hopes.

Our joy, peace, faith and hope are directly related to the power of the Holy Spirit working in us.

To the extent that we walk in the Holy Spirit we experience the spiritual blessings that are provided to us in Heavenly Places.

Those who live their lives apart from the Holy Spirit of Christ Jesus have only themselves and mankind in which to hope.
How sad and disapppointing!

It is not in man to direct his own steps.

Accordingly, instead of hope, there is a tendency toward hopelessness and expectation of evil.

But when you receive the Comforter, who is my Holy Spirit, even the Holy Spirit of truth, for truth is of the Holy Spirit, he shall testify of me:
The Holy Spirit is:
1) comforter
2) Spirit Of Truth
3) witness of Jesus Christ.
Peace is a Spirit Fruit state of comfort.
Jesus is the Truth so the Holy Spirit gives revelation knowledge of the Truth.
We cannot adequately testify of Jesus without the Holy Spirit inspiration
Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father because He is the Father .

But just as Jesus is in the Father and the Father is in Him and He is the Father while saying 'the Father is greater than I' , so it is with us, we can receive only part of the omnipresent Holy Spirit Father.

The Majesty who is in heaven is the source point from which the Holy Spirit issues

So when they had dined, Jesus says to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonah, love you me more than these?     He says unto him, Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.     He says unto him, Feed my lambs.
We prove our love from Christ by serving Him.

He says to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonah, love you me?     He says unto him, Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.     He says unto him, Feed my sheep.

He says unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonah, love you me?     Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Love you me?     And he said unto him, Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.     Jesus says unto him, Feed my sheep.
Jesus emphasized His intent for us to preach the Gospel as our highest priority.

Then he answered and spoke unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, says the Lord of hosts.
The Holy Spirit is the Power of God.
In the Creation, God Spoke and the Holy Spirit moved to effect His Words.

Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Holy Spirit; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
Paul's sincerity and spiritual integrity provided a base for the power of the Holy Spirit to manifest mighty signs and wonders as he preaced the Gospel in its totality.

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Holy Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Talking to the Lord in the Spirit ( Prayer Language) is how we build ourselves up in faith .      It enables us to pray effectually and fervently .

When we have asked and believed that we have received the request, we then persevere until we see the manifestation .

When supplication is made for others we must encourage them in the faith, to believe that they have received the petition and to persevere until the manifestation.

By watching we are expecting and looking to see the manifestation.

Likewise the Holy Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Holy Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Praying In The Spirit is critical because of the dullness of our minds.     Our Prayer Language is a vehicle by which our infirmities are healed.

For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.
speaking in tongues is an act of faith and trust in the Lord the Holy Spirit.     Though we do not know what is being said, we have confidence in the edification that is occurring.

What is it then?     I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
Praying in tongues is a supernatural exercise.     Let the Holy Spirit pray through you and for you.     After praying in the Spirit listen for divine interpretation as He gives you direction and clarity on issues.

Sing in the Spirit!     When we are truly in a worship state, our thoughts and emotions soar beyond the lyrics.     sing in the Spirit and take worship to a new level.

But you, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
Pray in your Prayer Language to be strengthened spiritually, physically and mentally meditating on the Word Ofthe Lord on which your faith rests.

Paul said that he spoke with tongues more than all the people at corinth.     He was talking about exercising his Prayer Language.

While Peter yet spoke these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all them which heard the word.
Spirit Baptism is a work of faith as is the case with all blessings from the Lord.     As Peter preached the Gospel of the kingdom the Holy Spirit quickened their mortal bodies and they begin to speak in tongues under the power of the Holy Spirit.

Notice that the Holy Spirit sanctioned what Peter said about the name of Jesus.     When Jesus is lifted up the Holy Spirit lifts up the lifters and those who hear and believe.

And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Spirit.
'of the Circumcision' refers to those believers who were still steeped in judaism.     Such did not understand the parables of Jesus referring to new wine and new cloth.

Faith in Christ Jesus results in being born as a New Spirit being.     It is the creation of new cloth, new wine skin.     The new cloth should not be mingled with old cloth.     The new wine skin is fir new wine.     That 'new wine' is the Holy Spirit.

For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify the Lord.     Then answered Peter,
worshipping the Lord in Spirit and in Truth is worshipping the Lord Jesus in the Holy Spirit.     The Holy Spirit is the Lord.     When He is in us we are enabled to worship in the Spirit Realm, not just in the Physical Realm.

Worship in the Spirit takes an individual from the limitations of rational thought and form to revelation of the glory of Christ Jesus .      As we step into the Spirit Realm we are transcendentally taken into a higher consciousness of the Lord and so worship Him in Spirit.

The Truth aspect of worship involves knowledge of and understanding of who we are In Christ so that we grasp our qualification to boldly enter into the Holy Of Holies.

You need to be filled with the Holy Spirit for empowerment!

Your Family needs you to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
