It occurred to me that she was exactly right.   

Our Creator gave us the right to do what we want.    However, He instituted laws that implement consequences for our actions.   

A consequence of having sexual intercourse is the possibility of pregnancy.   

The consequence of choosing to abort the pregnancy is the death of a human.   

The consequence of killing another person is death according to the sixth Commandment.   

There is no material difference (in our Creator's eyes) between a killer of adults and a killer of the unborn.   Both killers have the right to do what they do, but both must suffer the consequences of their actions.   

Whether the consequences are meted out by civil law or not is up to man.   

But the consequences of choosing to break our Creator's laws can only be escaped by calling on His mercy in Christ Jesus.
