Christ called us to be disciples.   

And he says unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Mat 4:19 Jesus is contrasting the menial occupation of fishing with that of accomplishing the will of the Lord for the saving of mankind.

Jesus taught His disciples and then sent them out.   

These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter you not: Mat 10:5 The ministry of Jesus (and His disciples) was directed to israel.     israel received undivided attention from the Lord during the ministry of Jesus to give them the right of first refusal.     They in fact did refuse and so fell into blindness about the Truth.

But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Mat 10:6 The Lord was honoring His promise to Abraham that through him all the nations of the earth would be blessed.

And as you go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Mat 10:7 The Kingdom Of Heaven being At Hand was a new concept.     It is still not grasped even in the church.     Jesus instructed us to pray that His kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.      Jesus fulfilled His part of that prayer by bringing us into Himself through the New Birth so that we are seated with Him in Heavenly Places.     Our part of fulfilling that prayer is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every creature.      The Kingdom Of Heaven is the Lord the Holy Spirit who issues from the Spirit Realm into the Physical Realm.

Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely you have received, freely give. Mat 10:8 This command is to His disciples.      disciples listen to their master, receive His words into their hearts and then they do what He has commanded.      How do we do these things?     On His authority by faith and obedience.
