Title: The error that Phillip made which is still being made today

Jesus says unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me.
Jesus is the Holy Spirit in flesh.     It is necessary to believe this about Jesus in order to be Born Again of the Holy Spirit.     Those who reject Jesus, reject the Holy Spirit.
He is the Way: Jesus is the path to our Creator.
He is the Truth: Jesus is the Truth about our Creator
He is the Life: Jesus is the Creator by His Holy Spirit who fills us giving us life.

As disciples of Christ we must share this Gospel Truth with everyone in our lives.

It will either be a testimony for them leading to Eternal Life with Christ or a testimony against them in The Judgment leading to Eternal Death in the Lake Of Fire.

If you had known me, you should have known my Father also: and from henceforth you know him, and have seen him.
To know Jesus is to know the Father.     To not know Jesus is to be unknown to the Father.     Jesus is the express image of the Father who is the Holy Spirit.

Philip says unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it suffices us.
Philip was not satisfied with Jesus.
He wanted to see the Father.
This was a terrible insult to Christ and reflected the Carnal Minded nature that was still in His disciples.

Those today who persist in calling upon the Lord apart from using His name, Jesus, waste their time.     How is this?     Because all power in heaven and earth belongs to Christ Jesus who is the express image of the Father, the Holy Spirit.

Jesus says unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet have you not known me, Philip?     he that has seen me has seen the Father; and how say you then, Show us the Father?
Jesus states categorically who He is - the express image of the Father.

You can hear the hurt and amazement in Jesus' voice as He responds.

Jesus tells Philip that He is the Father.     He then rebukes Philip for even doubting that He is the Father.

Believe you not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me?     the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwells in me, he does the works.
How can Jesus be in the Father and the Father be in Him?
Understand who the Father is.     He is a Spirit.     He is the Holy Spirit.     The Holy Spirit fills the universe and beyond.     But He birthed the body of Jesus and annointed Him to be Messiah - He filled the body of Jesus.

Jesus spoke what the Holy Spirit inspired Him to speak.     Jesus reached out to heal and deliver those whom the Holy Spirit empowered Him to bless.

Just as the disciples and others of Jesus' day could not look past the physical form of Jesus and see the Father, likewise today, people cannot see past our physical form to see the Father in us.

What is even worse is that many of us cannot look past our own physical form to realize Christ in us the expectation of the Father's glory being manifested in and through us.

Greater works shall we do because the Father has made His abode in us.     We are filled with the Holy Spirit.

Father is a role.     It is not the name of a being.     The name of the Father is Christ Jesus.     (For that matter, the name of the Holy Spirit is Christ Jesus).     But Jesus was clarifying how He, as a man, was able to do what He did and say what He said.

The Holy Spirit is the Father of Jesus.     He is the one who impregnated Mary.     He is the One who inspires and implements the Word.

So, Jesus being the Word speaks and interacts with those in the Physical Realm, while the Holy Spirit from the Spirit Realm ( Heaven) inspires Jesus to speak and then performs the works that Jesus does.

The Holy Spirit and the Word are One.     You cannot separate them.     If you try to you will either have the Word or the Power and neither will be effective.     The Word speaks the purpose, while the Power achieves the purpose.     The Holy Spirit and Word are inseparable.

Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
Jesus is in the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit is in Him.     It is who He is.     He is the express image of the Holy Spirit.     Jesus' Spirit is the Holy Spirit.

Truly, truly, I say unto you, He that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
This is one of the most ignored things that Jesus said.     Why?     Because we choose to be believers only.     We resist becoming disciples.

Disciples follow their master in His footsteps learning from Him and imitating Him.

Jesus is telling us that we are to spread the Gospel, heal the sick, set captives free and make disciples of all men.

We can only do this by the power of the Holy Spirit operating in a vessel with the Mind Of Christ.

What did Jesus mean by 'I go unto my Father'?     Jesus returned to the Spirit Realm ( Heaven) when He ascended where the Holy Spirit Father is most readily experienced.     It is the seat from where the Majesty emanates throughout the universe.

And whatsoever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Jesus wants us to ask for whatever we desire in His name.     When we do, He will fulfill our desire.     Jesus says that such asking and receiving glorifies our heavenly Father.

Think about how asking and not receiving actually denigrates the Father.     It makes Him appear unconcerned, unloving.

Jesus was the original faith preacher.     So, when He makes a statement like this, He assumes you have taken to heart His command:
Have faith in the Lord!      ()

Faith is not something we conjure up.     It comes by hearing believing and receiving the Word Of The Lord.

Get into the word until you have faith in it.     Then when you speak the Word it will accomplish the Lord's purpose .

If you shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
What a promise!

Christ Jesus has signed a blank check for us.     By faith we fill the check in and cash it.

Do you believe the Word Of The Lord?
If so, meditate on this verse until you are convinced of the totality of the Father's love and the magnificence of Christ's provision for us by Grace Through Faith.

Who is the one that we ask?     The Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ.

There is no doubt that Philip believed in Jesus.   He had heard His teaching and seen the healings and miracles.

Philip could not possibly doubt that Jesus had come from God.   Listen to what Nicodemus said of Jesus:
The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from the Lord: for no man can do these miracles that you do, except the Lord be with him.
A statement of faith.

Nicodemus believed that Jesus was a teacher who had come from God and that God was with Him.
But there is no indication that He accepted Jesus as the embodiment of that God.

So, Jesus tried to explain to Nicodemus the nature and origin of body and spirit.   He was talking about Spirit Soul And Body.

The Soul Of God in the Body Of God was teaching Nicodemus of the Spirit Of God In Christ Jesus.

Nicodemus needed to be born of the Spirit Of God in order to be one with Him.

We do not have a record of everything that Jesus said and did.   I have no doubt that Jesus spent much time with the disciples in private helping them to understand their nature and His who created them.

The consternation Jesus manifested at Philip's desire to see the Father was because Philip had not understood what He had been teaching them.

Hearing the Word Of The Lord is not the same as understanding the Word Of The Lord.

Understanding the Word of the Lord is not the same as believing the Word Of The Lord.

Believing the Word Of The Lord is not the same as living the Word Of The Lord.

Jesus is Mighty God and we who have received Jesus as Creator, Lord and Saviour are filled with His Holy Spirit.

Those who simply believe in God are not filled with the Holy Spirit and so do not testify of Jesus.

Those filled with the Holy Spirit cannot help but testify of Jesus because they have the Spirit Of Prophecy.
And I fell at his feet to worship him.     And he said unto me, See you do it not: I am your fellowservant, and of your brothers that have the testimony of Jesus: worship the Lord: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
