In a very real sense we are in bondage to our ideology.   

This is why Jesus came to set us free.   

What was man most in bondage to?   
A false understanding of God.   

Out of that false understanding came the sin of rebellion.   Once the spirit of rebellion was in charge all the other sins began to manifest.   

Rather than addressing each individual sin that man was guilty of, Jesus focused on the sin of separation from God.   

Separation was the result of not understanding God, doubting Him and then rebelling against Him.   

Jesus said knowing the Truth would make us free.   

What Truth?   
   → The Truth about God.   

How did Jesus reveal the Truth about God?   
   → In Himself as the Body Of God
   → In Himself as the Soul Of God
   → In Himself as the Spirit Of God

We find the Truth In Christ Jesus.   
We know the Truth In Christ Jesus.   
We speak the Truth In Christ Jesus.   
We manifest the Truth In Christ Jesus.   

For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. Act 17:28 The 'Him' is the Holy Spirit.     He has begotten us as New Spirit beings of His own self.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit Of God is the Spirit Of Christ Jesus.   

The only thing that can dislodge a person from their ideology is Truth.   They must
   → Hear the Truth
   → Believe the Truth
   → Receive the Truth
   → Do the Truth

The preaching of the Gospel is the only way that a person can hear the Truth.   

Believing the Truth requires that the Holy Spirit reveal the Truth to them.   

Receiving the Truth is an act of their Free Will.   

Doing the Truth (living it) is an act of their Free Will, coupled with the power of the Holy Spirit.   

So, though Resistance To Change is a definite obstacle for people in darkness (believers in false ideology), it is not only possible but likely if they are exposed to the Truth and have an inherent Love Of The Truth.
