Educated Fools (people with degrees and no connection to the Creator ) can't distinguish between an abusive, hate-filled parent and a parent who loves their children enough to enforce boundaries.
No Christian is in favor of abusive treatment of anyone, especially children.
Physical discipline done to enforce a boundary typically does not have to be repeated often.
Verbal threats and short time-outs have to be repeated over and over again, confusing the child about the seriousness of the boundary.
Proverbs 13:24
He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
