Title: The rapture is the catching away of the dead and living In Christ

Most believers agree that Jesus is coming back as He said and as the angels who attended His ascension said.

But some believe that Jesus will return twice
a Silent Rapture before the Great Tribulation
a general rapture when Jesus splits the eastern sky and all the people of the earth see Him.

Those who believe in a Silent Rapture have not one shred of scripture to support it.   Those who argue for a Silent Rapture use scripture regarding the return of Christ along with assumptions made from reading between the lines of scripture.

As a former believer in a Silent Rapture I have nothing against such an event happening.   I simply see no scriptural basis for it.

If there were no implications for such a belief I would not even write this article.   However, there are implications which are solely negative.
    dashed hopes
    resignation spirit
    deception by the antichrist

Let's assume the Silent Rapture does not happen.

Those who believed in the Silent Rapture will be crushed when they realize they had hoped falsely.

Those who expect Jesus to return at any moment will have a tendency to give up fighting the enemy and just wait for the rapture.

Those who expect to be raptured before the mark, name and number are mandated may possibly not recognize the edict for what it is, and so taking it in ignorance.

Let's assume there is a Silent Rapture.   What are the negative implications of not believing in it?
    there are none.

We are not going to be raptured based on a belief in the rapture.   We will be raptured, whenever it occurs, because we are sealed by the Holy Spirit through faith In Christ Jesus.

I encourage every Silent Rapture believer to prove to themselves that this event will occur using unambiguous scriptures.

As a starting point, note what Jesus said about it.
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
The Day Of The Lord has come.

And then shall appear the sign of the Son Of Man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son Of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of the Lord: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.     -
