When did truth take a back seat to image? I don't remember a vote on this. Anyway, it seems that somewhere along the line, truth became a second class citizen.

I have been amazed during the current election season to hear one lie after another told with no accountability. It's as if telling a lie with style makes it just as good as truth.

Here's just one example but it's a very important one:

• Barack Obama has promised to reduce taxes for 95% of the citizenry.
• Barack Obama has promised to provide national health insurance.
• Barack Obama has promised to provide college tuition for all students.

Give me a break! No person of conscience would make such promises who had any economic sense! Apparently 50% of voting America is either too gullible to see the lie or simply chooses to ignore it because of the image Barack projects.
