Free Speech along with Free Will define Humans as being created in the Image of God.
Since God gave these abilities to mankind, they are inalienable rights.
The Power to Speak is the Power for Life and Death.
The 1st amendment guarantees free speech. This includes the right to inflict verbal pain ( Hate Speech).
The application of restraints of any kind whether overt ( Hate Crime bills) or insidious ( Political Correctness) will eventually lead to the complete elimination of this right (see Fascism).
